There's some interesting theories as to why South Park isn't as good anymore as it's been for the majority of its run. Apparently, Time Warner (MAX) is suing Viacom (Paramount Plus/Comedy Central) for intentionally trying to undermine the deal they made where South Park the show would help build the Max platform in order to boost their own. The one hour tv movies seem to have more quality while the tv show episodes which are exclusive to Max seem rushed. Also, there were supposed to be 10 episodes per season but since becoming exclusive to Max theyve only had 6 episodes per season. And now the fact that they have taken such a long break for season 27 could definitely be due to this legal battle over the fate of south park. I'm not sure why Trey and Matt would side with Viacom other than that's been their main business relationship for their careers. But whatever the reason I think Time Warner is right. These episodes feel rushed, theres some good stuff but a lot of it isn't funny and it's shocking Trey Parker is ok airing them given how south park up until tehse recent seasons has been so consistent. Idk but they're definitely not trying as hard as they used to with these recent seasons. makes me think of how sometimes music artists will put out mid albums just to fulfill their obligation to their former record label.

thanks. just read an update--paramounts motion to dismiss was rejected so now its headed to trial mostly based on the accusation that the $500 deal time warner made to exclusively stream tv episodes of south park was violated by the "specials" that aired on paramount+. i have to say i agree with time warner, you can add 15-20 minutes to an episode and call it whatever you want its still an episode of South Park.

Captain

the F bombs are just randy being dramatic randy as usual
