*** 9 ***Well. I promised promised to make a other comic pages by beginning of the month and I screwed up again. Yeah, i'm really great. On the 13th, when I had one last page left to do, my work laptop was sent to service centre for repairs. Okay, no panic, I thought, I have a reserve laptop, special for this case! Oh. It also needs repairs. And that's when I realized I had problems.
Up until now, I've been sitting on an old laptop that my parents brought me so I wouldn't get bored while the repairs were going on. I played laggy tanks and other primitive games, whiling away the time as best I could. After all, I'm a fool. I didn't save my work in the cloud drive. Just. Phenomenal.
Now they've returned the reserve one to me and I've finished the work. But. I've lost a lot of time and I need to spend the entire next month to fulfill my obligations to regular commissioners, so work on the comic will be frozen for a month.
And finally, a funny story. My main laptop, Gigabyte Aorus 17X-AZF(2023), turned out to be a unique beast in my small provincial town. It just needed a fan/cooler replacement. But first, the repairman decided to clean it and during the cleaning, the evaporation chamber was perforated, which completely deprives the machine of cooling. The repairman had to buy the same laptop from nearlest country(my laptop turned out to be unique for the country) from someone else to remove the cooling system from it and insert it into mine, because otherwise he could not find spare parts. Otherwise, he would have been obliged to reimburse the entire cost of my laptop according to the contract. But. He still did not replace the cooler. He simply forgot about it during the panic. And now he does not want to disassemble it again, risking to break everything again, and no one in my city wants to fix it. Everyone is afraid. I chose my work machine poorly... *** 8 ***Well. I promised to do more lizard pictures this month and I failed. When I started digging through the first pages of the comic, I realized that I wouldn't be able to achieve much in the one week of work I had on the lizards. That's exactly how much I had left after I finish all comission orders that I had. The pages basically need to be completely redrawn, especially the lizard faces are very outdated.I came to the understanding that either I process as many pages as I can or I mess around and make simple pictures with lizards and one or two pages for comic. You can see what choice I made. And you can also see a sketch of the picture that I abandoned. But I will do it later. I only managed to update 18 pages. Although I wanted to do all 40. But that was too optimistic. Or it would have been a hack job.A huge problem was that I had to go back several times to synchronize the lizards' clothes on all the pages. Especially when I was rethinking their design. Also, in addition to this, the old lines were too rough and blurry to pass for the pre-line stage. Still, my later pages came out neater.
Also, some frames were changed that did not look as good as I thought before. There will be more changes in the following pages. Especially in terms of adding special effects placeholders that were not drawn earlier, although I planned them. For example, smoke/steam during growth moments.
Approximately the same thing happened with the first comic. Only in a more terrible variation of production hell that dragged on not for months but for years.
I think during the beginning of next month I will finish this stage and then I can start finishing the pages. In the future, you will receive a notification about an update to this post, this is me uploading the missing 20+ pages here so that this post becomes a collection of the entire comic in the sketch stage.I hope my commissioners won't burn me at the stake for delaying their orders in favor of my project...
