I‘ve been toying around with the idea that Jess has a car.

Originally I thought a Mazda Miata might be a fun and compact choice for city life, but I’d like for Jess’ car to fit a dog and a passenger, and a Miata is a bit too small for that.

I like the idea of a convertible, So maybe a Mini-Cooper convertible? Although, Jess has money (but paused that income), so a Porsche convertible could be more fun.

Maybe a classic car that a friend hooked her up with and maintains for her?

I don't think a Miata is that much smaller than a Mini.

It is perfect, but it fits either one other passenger or a large dog, not both; so Jess can’t take both her dog Lucy and a friend, unless Lucy sits on that friend

There’s a four seat version of the Mini, a Miata is just two seats. Although this story is fictional, so maybe I just make up a fake version of a Miata that fits a dog in the back?

I wouldn't think it's weird to make it so the dog can seat in a "backseat" in a Miata, there's a space there that could totally fit a dog. Of all the crazy stuff that happens all the time in your universe, a Miata with somewhat of a backseat for a dog is clearly not what's will break my suspension of disbelief!

They still have cars in that future? Maybe rare classic cars maintained by enthusiasts? Otherwise I would expect more of car sharing, taxis or Uber-like.

Why not a classy car like a Cadillac or Mercedes maybe an Audi A4?

Depending on how cute and compact you want the car to be... or how expensive 😅 You got so many choices even for convertibles ! I liked the New Beetle suggestion although it's already discontinued now, a classic for sure in the future ! BMW 2er convertible is great, you can push to a 3er convertible. Mercedes SLK are 2-seater but quite cute too, you got E-class convertible too, SL... You could go a bit crazy with a Maserati GranCabrio, or Aston DB12 convertible... although these two are quite bigger and don't come cheap at all... If you want to import some Dutch rarities... you got Spyker c8 or some Donkervoort. But I'm not even sure they can be imported in the US, maybe they can in the future 😋 There's also probably some future Toyota in the works today that could become convertibles (celica, supra)... Now if you want sports cars... that's another episode 🤣 Cheers

As much as everything is becoming a subscription these days, I think people in this future will still own cars; that said I think I’ll throw a self-driving feature into her car, but with a small twist

I did look at the Maserati, but even with how much Jess was making, I imagine it would be out of her budget (and her Mom would definitely be asking questions about how she got it)
