I'm wondering if this conversation about flight is hinting at something. We knew Liam's people were Dragon tamers, but is it possible that Liam is actually a Dragon?

I need to make a final decision about that lore soon, because a lore dump about Liam's people is coming up soon. I've played around with a few ideas about Liam's people's relationship with Dragons. At one point I did consider the idea that the dragons take human form and intermarry with the northerners, meaning that Liam is part dragon. Or alternatively, only a select few northern men or woman can turn into dragon. Which would be similar to how Amelia and her parents have a relationship with their wolves, some northerners can transform into dragons (and Liam's transformation into a girl unlocks that ability). Hmm, wolves and dragons, where have we seen that before? But for reasons I'm not going to get into, I want Liam's older brother to both be a dragon rider and be romantically available, so I'm leaning more towards the bond with the dragon scenario instead of the transform into a dragon idea. I already did the dragon transforming into human form with Anna in Heart Guardians anyway. So, I'm probably going to go with northern men and women both bond with dragons, and Liam simply wasn't given the chance to bond with one (perhaps because he moved south before a dragonling was available for him to bond with, or perhaps each family has access to a limited number of dragons, and siblings 1 & 2 already bonded with the available candidates).

I like the idea that Liam's family have distant Dragon ancestry and that's why they can bond with Dragons. Maybe the potions could have interact with Liam's magic in an odd way. Not to allow him to transform into a full dragon, but maybe a part Dragon, part human hybrid? (Like Tabby's true form?)
