The serie continues, and today we are starting to revise epic level spells!

Get a portal gun with Arcane Gate, absorb the life of everything within one mile with Circle of Death, or get infused with elemental power with the 4 investiture spells : no doubt there is a lot of fun to get there!

Tell me what you think of it! :)

Edits (21/02/2022)

- Heroes' Feast : now need a 1000gp component instead of 1500gp.

- Heroes' Feast : the targets now can't benefit from an other Heroes' feast for 7 days instead of 24h.

How do you come up with the spells included? I know there's a good amount like the investiture of element spells that people complain about being underpowered, but I haven't heard anyone saying circle of death is underpowered. I've never played a high enough level to use it so I wouldn't know!

First, I look at how the different spells are used at the tables I play in, and talk with the players about how they feel about those spells (generally at the end of the session of course). Then I also go from forum to forum, to see what other people think of those spells, and what spells are generally seen as weak (I make google researches like "5e worst 6th level spell" or "worst dnd spells" or "5e spells breakdown"). About Circle of Death, I have seen a lot of people complaining that it isn't worth casting as it deals the same amount of damage than a 3rd level fireball but at a cost of 200 gp and a 6th level slot (yes, it covers an area sightly bigger, but it rarely makes a difference). So I chose to change it to make it both more flavorful (definitly more unique and less of a fireball copypast), and more powerful (especially for necromancers, as it lets you gain max hp to compensate for the max hp you loose when summoning your undeads for instance). Edit : If you want to suggest other spells that I might have overlooked, do not hesitate, I'll for sure have a look! :)

I don't have any spells that fit exactly, but it could be interesting to expand the idea to spells that should have an upcasting effect but don't!
