instead of stock compression, can I use the khs compactor for sidechain compression/compression in general? it's the same deal? Which one do you prefer for mixdowns? Also, is there a difference between Pro-Q and Ozone's EQ? Or do they yield pretty much the same results for pre-mastering?

Hey Nasko, question for you… So for soft clipping in the mastering stage… you’re using it mainly for the aggressive parts of the track and only to catch peaks/transients. You fiddled a lot with the right amount and the oversampling and it got my brain thinking… so my question is this: Couldn’t you hypothetically get a “cleaner” and less destructive (but still aggressive) result if you instead used, let’s say, two limiters? One to similarly catch those peaks like you did, and then one to push for loudness? Personally, I think the track example in this stream sounds great with how you did things! But it gave me food for thought and now I’m wondering if the result would be objectively “better” or “cleaner” if you didn’t clip in the master and only used soft clipping in the mix (like you did eventually in the mids group to make it easier on yourself)? If you see this and answer, thank you for your time! 🙏🏼💯✨

I am 99.9% sure that the bass mono option on ableton's utility is linear phase, I tested with a dubstep drop, and an unprocessed saw wave. Even after duplicating the utility 50 times it had no difference on the phase of the signal. Its much better on the cpu than using pro q or ozone :)
