N-BASS-IR FOR ABLETON LIVE 11.1 IS HERE
This ableton live rack uses the stock Hybrid Reverb effect to add 4 custom made Bass Impulse Responses for post-process use on bass sounds!
N-BASS-IR uses the convolution module of the hybrid reverb to deliver you the character of the 4 carefully crafted N-IR`s! These Impulse responses range from metallic and cabinet-like to smeary, big and full of phase rotation!
This rack is catered towards heavier bass design and acts as a quick way to very quickly drastically alter a much simpler and dryer sound to be more wet, full and metallic!
On top of the convolution you get a sub-friendly built-in frequency shifter with a +/- 200hz range which is mapped to an LFO module and has its own dedicated pitch macro. This LFO easily lets you add even more tone altering modulation and pitch bending to turn your simple bass sounds into more developed and fatter basslines.
!Abletons Hybrid reverb is currently a little funky and will add a bit of lag to the channel its on! This will likely get fixed in the future by ableton. I recommend resampling the audio you process with this rack after you are done!
FEATURES:
BASS-IR TYPE: Lets you cycle between the 4 different IR Types. The first two are less smeary and have more of a cabinet-like sound to them while the 3rd and 4th one are more smeary and fuller sounding.
IR AMOUNT: This macro enables you to mix between the dry and wet signal. Convolution adds a significant delay to a signal if the IR is of a decent length. I have tried to perfectly match the delay offset so that the dry signal can be mixed in properly with the wet signal and deliver you even more variation!
PITCH: This lets you adjust the sub-friendly frequency shifter with a range of +/- 200hz. You can automate this macro or use the PITCH LFO module next to the macros to add instant pitch modulation!
SOFT CLIP: Lets you push the signal into a soft clipper. This is an easy way to more delicately "sum" your dry and wet signals together for a grittier sound.
HOW TO INSTALL: Drag the N-BASS-IR Rack into ableton live. Live will prompt you that there are media files missing. Click on the red prompt. Extract the N-IRs.ZIP to a folder and select that folder in the Automatic search window in ableton. Ableton will then find the 4 IR samples and replace them with the missing files. Save the rack after successfully importing the samples!
