when I use the comb filter trick, and I set a utility on the master and set it to only play the left or right channel, it sounds all weird and messed up. but when I use the mid/side knob to turn it to mono, it sounds fine. I understand this is because the mid / side filter takes both left and right signals and combines them into a mono signal. But my question now is, do mono playback systems convert them to mono by combining the channels or only taking the information from either the left or right channel? Because if its the latter, wont it sound super weird?
