Ohmygosh, I literally went through the kama sutra of emotions this episode!!!! I screamed, I laughed, I got angry, I cried, I smiled, and then rinse and repeat!!!

I cannot BELIEVE this came from China!!! They told me to put LITBC in a box and a corner, and I'm SHOCKED at how Blue Canvas is overtaking first place for me!!!

A lot of y'all haven't started Blue Canvas yet and it makes me sad because you're really missing out on THE BEST BL of the year. Once you enter Blue Canvas, you will understand!!!

OMG I was waiting for you to get to episode 7!! This was so beautifully executed. I felt every single ounce of emotion from these characters. The acting here is top tier. The LONGING, the TENSION, the frustration, the trauma, and then that KISS?! The roller coaster with our second couple?! I sincerely hope other Chinese productions get a chance like this because DAMN the talent is there.

Also can we talk about how much progress we made in the story in thirty minutes?! Japan is shaking.

This episode had me acting a fool ngl, the amount of squealing and kicking of feet was off the charts! That fireworks scene was EVERYTHING 😭😭 And the actors are SO GOOD like I can't believe this is their first professional acting job!

Whoa. I didn't know they were rookies! They are absolutely killing it with their performance.

All 4 main actors seem to be newbies to the scene! They're all quite young as well. Not sure about Yao Xing Hao (who plays Liu Ming Yang) but all other 3 have just turned 21 within the past couple of months (so would have been 20 at the time of filming).

Squealing and kicking my feet this whole episode 💕💕💕 Oh my gosh! They were so 🥵🥵🥵 in this episode. The nose rubs!!!! 😭😭😭

The actor for Liu Ming looks familiar to me 🤔🤔 Haven’t checked MDL to see what else he’s been in but I feel like I’ve seen him around in other stuff previously.

Jasmine

Mother-in-law in this was Xiao's extreme gay panic 😅 That fireworks scene is still replaying in my mind. Also blondie being sulky is the cutest thing ever 🥹

Kent I just love how you make me relive the episode like I am watching for the first time instead of the third time, thank you for that. Also, China? According to Viki this this a Taiwanese show.

It is 100% China. That’s why China banned this show in the first 12 hours when it was originally released in August.

I’m glad my reactions can do this for you!!! Honestly I am so passionate about Blue Canvas😆

Lol. China lost its chance on claiming this one since it banned it. I am crediting Taiwan for saving it.

51:59 some translation misses: "But i cant date someone so young when *i myself am in a mess*" "I cannot treat your love like something insignificant just to pass the time (note: to not give it its worth)"

i cannot believe that all of these 4 leads are new actors - must be one helluva director to give good direction for the scenes. [edit: i stand corrected - 2 of them literally majored in acting and are involved in productions at film festivals. No wonder they carry their microexpressions and lines so well. 1 of them is a singer?! wow ] The logic, plot, screenwriting flow makes sense. the framing and sequence are also shot in a very art documentary narrative fashion, which fits the tone of this perfectly! No need for any bubbly comedic filters and sounds as this is definitely not the romantic-comedy genre. the tinge of sadness and pressure permeates throughout the cold winter of this show, yet reminding us that we find warmth and comfort in one another, if we're willing to reach out. hoping that the quality will continue for the remaining episodes - i don't want this to be over!!! SEASON 2 please
