Wilhelm told Simon the reason he didn't want Simon to go to the police when they were in the piano room but you missed it. Its because August has really good lawyers and the royal family will protect August in order to protect the royal families reputation, Wilhelm has said this multiple times (he said it to Felice in the first episode) and thats why he punished August in his own way by taking away the things he loves
