Just finished ep 8, I can't believe how depressing this episode was. Gaipa singing to his mom broke my heart... All these characters being traumatized by their moms dying or on the verge of death is really crazy.

Lordt Kent...I'm gonna wait to watch your reactions to ep 7/8 back to back, because, I'm the least emotional person when it comes to watching stuff, but mahn if the final 2 eps of MLC didn't have me misty eyed for darn near every frame! I've literally rewatched 2 reactions already and STILL misty eyed. Now it may be because of my own family going through grief right now, but I think it's more than just than just that. This series just was so different and mature than others that it just hit different in a IDK mature feeling so of way...ya know what I mean? So I'll def be better to watch both reactions after my eyes are drier...LOL

Kent sobbing about the mom while eating french fries was such a mood honestly LOL. I just love this series so much, I just see it as flawed but good people living their lives trying to get by and have a better life. and that alone makes it so special and just a masterpiece for me I love how they show people struggling with money but doing their best to try to change their circumstances and how finding a place to call home can be a true blessing in your life. I very much miss it. I'm so excited for P'aofs next series with Jimmy & Sea this year even more now he's such a talented director.

The french fries was your saving grace. I don't know how you made it through this one. Everytime Gaipa broke down, I was like damm it somebody hug this boy tight. Kudos to you Kent now one more and you can put this one "High School fluffy series to bed sir" 😂💜

as I said at Nolan's, my mother hasn't been there for more than 12 years and seeing Gaipa in this state of sadness, I relived this moment of my life, it's simple I couldn't stop crying

When i watched this episode, the first thing that came to my mind was - Kent is in for a ride. And yes, the song 月亮代表我的心 or the moon represents my heart is a Chinese song. When Gaipal said he was going to sing his mother’s fav song, I immediately knew he was gonna sing this and was begging him not to. 😭😭

just sharing since Kent mentioned about the song: "月亮代表我的心" (Yuè Liàng Dàibiǎo Wǒ de Xīn) is a classic Chinese love song that was popularized by Taiwanese singer Teresa Teng in the 1980s. The title of the song translates to "The Moon Represents My Heart" in English. The song is a simple but beautiful expression of love, where the singer compares her love to the constancy of the moon. The lyrics speak of the moon shining bright in the sky, and how it represents the singer's feelings for her loved one, which will remain constant and unwavering like the moon. Here is a rough translation of the lyrics: You ask me how deep my love for you is, How much I really love you... My affection is real, My love is real. The moon represents my heart. You ask me how deeply I love you, How much I really love you... My love will never change, My heart will always be true. The moon represents my heart.

the song sure hits different when the theme is family love and not just romantic love

Such a great episode. The storyline with Gaipa and his mom...lordt...I really did have to pause, skip and then go back. during the eulogy and funeral scene (my aunt literally passed 2 weeks ago and today was her birthday and we're burying her in two days), Khatoung's acting was soo good! I actually think many people are giving Jim a harder time than he deserves...yes he's been hard headed and a bit out of touch when it comes to new generational stuff, but Jim is truly a selfless guy with a good heart. Who hasn't truly harmed or cheated anyone and literally gave his last everything to help his nephew, his employees and even Wen. And even with his unbendablilty he's still a good guy with yes some outdated ideas, but knowing his trauma kinda even explains that.

I was one who thought the mom was homophobic? But that was becasue of what Jim said she'd said about male-male relationships, but after this episode, I think it's exactly what Wen was saying to Jim. Alot of so called "allies" are allies as long as it's not THEIR sons and daughters who are gay. For example, I work with some people who I know vote for anti-gay conservative politicians, and yet they keekee and heehaw with the gay guy/girl who works with us, but the idea that her own child may be non-binary or gay is just too much for her. So MiLing's mom is fine with her brother who doesn't live with her and doesn't flaunt his "gayness" in front of her but the idea that her own son is gay is a step too far...which is tupid but not uncommon sadly

BTW Kent, just wanted to say I love all your reactions. I appreciate that you and Nolan and Tita Josie all give constructive criticism to the showseven if you love the actors or the pairings. I love that you all speak ur minds on YT and Patreon! Keep up the great work!

it's weird watching this episode right now, because my Uncle just passed away. His funeral is actually tomorrow. Watching you helps distract me.

GMMTV is so foul for this, they’ve got something against mothers lately 😭😭😭😭
