Hi all, thank you so much for your encouraging comments in the last post. I gotta go reread again and soak them up some more.

The struggle bus isn't letting me out, and uhhhhh I'm getting genuinely kinda devastated about not being able to draw 😅 But I keep trying, here are some sketches that I've tried but didn't lead anywhere.I promised the slasher thing to happen, but I might have to leave that aside to stew after all and try something completely different. It's like I have the images and ideas halfway formed in my head, but when I try to get them out, my brain says "nahh not actually into this lmao" and so nothing translates. And not getting something out that I promised and wanted to make frustrates me even further.But I know no one's here to listen to me struggle, I hope the rough sketches are of some interest and thank you so much for being so supportive despite this ❤️

Honestly if your brain is not vibing with the prompt then setting it aside is the best thing you could do! These are all so lovely, you could just do these type of sketches for your posts and I’d still pay. Your understanding of anatomy, line weight and line of action is aspirational

Do you think you might need a break? Giving yourself time to not worry about drawing or have any expectations might help! The last thing anyone wants is their passion to become stressful or a burden. Take your time and take some deep breaths to remember you are valued outside of your work and we care about the artist more than the art❤️❤️❤️

Hey sometimes your brain just needs time to let ideas stew before they're ready! Let your brain cook Pete! Lol that being said, it's ok to feel burnt out! Maybe a break is needed? Or maybe just draw whatever your brain wants you to draw currently? Sometimes indulging in whatever it may want is helpful! Regardless, we'll still be here for you! I’ve seen a lot of people echoing the sentiment to be more self indulgent and I agree with them so hard. Of course we as content consumers will have things we love to see, but I think a lot of us are also here for *your* art, regardless of the subject. And I genuinely enjoy seeing sketches and scribbles or rough, not fully fleshed out stuff. It’s like getting the special privilege to peek into a sketchbook. Sorry the struggle bus won’t let you off, but I hope you make it to your stop soon. 💖💖

You: no one comes here to see me struggle Me: //over in a corner crying and struggling with art too and peeks over// I'm not alone ; ^ ; I wish I could give like some magical encouraging words that'll break the art bus struggle curse but for real I got nothing 🧍‍♂️ The only way I'm keeping my art going is by thinking "if at least one person likes it, one person feels something from it, then I did it, I did the art" It doesn't change the struggle, it doesn't change the tears, the anguish of "why isn't it good, why am I struggling" but it makes the end goal post a lot easier to get to. Plus I've already had a good cry over being frustrated about wanting to draw, having ideas to draw but not being "able" to draw. That being said. I think artists should get to share their struggles more freely, art is hard, we are making images in our head be drawn down, and quite frankly I'm here for the super creative highs you get, and also the shitty struggle bus lows, almost like an art marriage xD till death I guess!

My name is No One and I am here to listen to anything you need to say, positive or negative. ♥♥♥ I hate to be that person and give unsolicited advice, but this really seems to help me, so here I go: When I'm being hard on myself about something, I ask myself how I would respond if the situation were reversed and a friend was struggling with the same scenario. It's hard to wrap my tiny raisin brain around, but with each step, my brain gets closer to being a grape! We can all be a cornucopia of grapes! (........Or something, you know, more normal sounding and inspiring.)
