Working on a, let's say mini, comic featuring the mermaid. I have a script for the first "issue" (ill share that for the top tier patrons). It's taken me a while to flesh out the designs and lore of these creatures over the past year or so but I'm finally happy enough to move forward with some stories featuring them. Just know ALL behind the scenes stuff will be on the super tier, and some bts ill share for everyone.

I want to make it clear, preemptively, that sharing this stuff doesn't mean I'm looking for input on my creative process or to have "ideas" be thrown into the mix in comments or DMs or whatever. (Stuff like, "she should be green" or "have her say this", please just dont). Im opening myself up to share more with you guys but i need a clear boundary or ill stop doing it. I just share stuff to be enjoyed and I'd like you giys to enjoy it. If I share MORE bts stuff it's just to give yall MORE to enjoy, thats it. By offering more i also make your patronage more valuable. But Im not here workshopping stuff with you guys. I have no interest in someone telling me where they think the story should go, etc. Especially when it's rough, raw bts stuff. I only share that to give more content to my cherished patrons, it's not to be dissected too heavily or, again, to have people try to horn in or collaborate on. This isnt a collaboration. This an individual's work and im just letting you in on it for enjoyment purposes. Just enjoy what comes. I know most people get that but I need to make it clear going forward. Bc when I get demanding stuff in comments or messages it doesn't make me want to share the raw unfinished stuff. So I reserve the right to stop sharing all the extra if I feel it serves me and my art better. Anyway, moving on.

For those that have been paying attention to my art for a while will know the mermaid has gone thru some design evolution. i always wanted her to be somewhat alien in appearance compared to old mermaid myths which made them seem too humanlike to me. If they spend so much time under water they shouod realy have more fishlike qualities. I cant promise there wont be design tweaks along the way but Id say the more i draw her the more confident I can feel in her design. Im happy enough with the foundational lore and anatomy to start drawing them more and find my groove with how I approach repeating these designs. There may be shorthand I find, etc. But this is a great "starting" point - just took a while to get here. Just goes to show how long it takes for an original concept to come together.

Anyway, thats the update on the mermaid stuff. I want to make some fun, high effort NSFW stuff here as always. More to come.
