Kori The Amazon pg 2 (Patreon)

She's back! Even though I did a first page, it was more of a prototype. As such this feels like the true "first appearance" of Kori.

Had lots of fun on this one, bringing my full range of skills together. I've been working on my hand lettering leading up to this one. I think Kori's story will be a fun one to see that lettering evolve over time. I think it adds a lot of personality to the page. I see too many artists use typed fonts and it just lacks interest to me. I want my pages to be completely hand drawn and that's what you have here. The lettering is a lot of extra effort but it pays off.

As for the story itself, I like Kori's totally domineering attitude. She comes from a warrior race of women so she doesn't view men as her equal. That's why I like that she says "that's a good man" and pats his head like he's a pet to her. That's not exactly how Amazons view men, as pets, but it's a closer example than to say they are on even footing. Believe it or not she is actually quite shy, but as you can see she is quite aggressive and takes what she wants in this world.

There will be more details about the man and other characters down the line, I don't want to spoil much. I have some nice surprises in store.
