Wedding Chapel in game (WIP)

Hi everyone!

I usually don't post much about my work in progress, but this time I wanted to share a small update.

I'm now finishing Wedding Chapel (working title — WC :D) making final adjustments and fixing a few issues. Most of these issues come from UV mistakes, such as overlapping islands that I didn't notice while creating the environment in Blender. Fixing them takes some time because the textures need to be baked again. If everything goes well, I plan to release it next week.

At first, I made a large layout with many rooms, but reality kicked me in the balls again and I had to make the project smaller. Just baking the wedding hall, the registration room and their props used 20–22 gb of vram. That's almost the limit of my graphics card

Doors can be opened and I've left doorways for connecting more rooms later. I also made a rough prototype of a confessional booth, but after calculating the total size of the baked textures, I decided to leave it out of this release. So for now, we have two complete rooms: the hall and the registration room.

Fixing these problems will take some time because the textures need to be baked again.

This is my first environment where I've used a lot of AI-generated images for things like posters, magazines and paintings. Overall it's getting harder to call the results from current models “AI slop.” These tools have improved a lot and can now even create decent 3D models. Here are some examples:

That's all for now. I hope you like how it's turning out. Feel free to let me know what you think!

Thanks for your patience and support!

An expert's eye. 🧐 Superb work; if you hadn't mentioned it, I wouldn't have noticed. Kudos on the quality of your work. 🤗

OMG! Another Masterpiece on the way! Can't wait! :) Look also fwd to how you implement confessBooth.

Thank you! I'm designing these rooms so that more rooms can be added later. The additional rooms would come in a separate VAR package, with a reference to it set up in advance in the initial release. I don't know how it will turn out or whether it will work the way I imagine. I haven't decided where the confessional booth will go yet. I'd also like to create a version without baked lighting. I think it could look good with DLSS 5 and NR. That would let you adjust the lighting however you like. But that's just a theory for now I haven't tested the idea yet.

Wonderful idea and realization!

Oh do like the sounds of that! Hopefully unbaked (or just night-time bake) can happen :) Would be quite interested to see tests of lighting.
