Stumbling around in the Kaiser Suite without a map, eh? Strange it's so dark since there's seemingly a big picture window right there. I finished re-reading "Church & State" last week (there will not be a third reading in my lifetime).

And here we find out through a dramatic reveal that all of the events up to now have been orchestrated by B.B. Crooker.

I should have known it! This has all the marks of a Blahs gator!

Now I'm looking forwards to seeing what kind of asshole fairy lives in this suite and likes keeping it really really dark.

Hahahaha the faces <3 You excel at drawing facial expressions! And I'm impressed you've read that far - twice, even! Have you read all the way to the final end? I gave up halfway through "High Society"...

Walter Reimer

Ah! The Braille Method of navigating a room.

I only read to the end of "Church & State" (aka Cerebus Volume 4) ... traded them in to the local bookshop, where they sat for years. Not remembering why I got rid of them the first time, I bought them back (same copies, still on the shelf at the same bookshop) and upon second reading, I remember. The artwork is beautiful but the story doesn't make a lick of sense and absolutely NONE of the characters are likeable. There's nobody to root for, I neither know nor care what exactly HAPPENED in Volume 4, and I'm not interested to find out what happens in Volume 5...

Heh. That was my take-away from “High Society” too. Cerebus volume 1 was fun, but it was downhill from there.
