Here's a relic from the days of yore while I enjoy my mini-vacation (by which I mean I'm frantically running around doing other stuff besides drawing.)

I've got walnuts up to my eyeballs but at least the end of hulling them is in sight now. I still have to shell them, but that can be done as needed, at my leisure, and does not have to be finished "promptly."

I thought I'd be able to use Windows 10 for at least a little while after the official end of service, but I think it went ahead and maliciously broke itself. There was an astonishing amount of hard drive activity all week (at one point causing a crash when my antivirus decided to scan and overloaded the system.) For the last two days it has been pretending there are no USB devices connected when I boot it up, so I have to unplug & replug the mouse and keyboard to get them to work. Today it even pretended those devices were new and had to "set them up" for me. THANKS MICROSOFT! I wanted to try Linux on my spare laptop first, test it out on a machine I seldom use and isn't important, but I may have to install it on my main PC instead. Hard to believe I made the bootable drive a week ago and haven't had a solid chunk of time since then to sit down and dick with the computer. Based on the time it took to make the boot drive, it's probably going to take a few hours to install.

You don't have to install linux to try it out. You should be able to run it right from the USB drive.

That's what they say, but I can't get the damn USB to boot. I have already been in the BIOS and changed the boot order but it ignores my instructions and boots Windows every time.
