This monstrosity was a prickly blue-green rosette next to the propane tank last fall. I still had to mow a few times but I carefully mowed around it so I could see what it would do come spring. And boy did it ever! Close to seven feet tall now and still growing. The tentacles on the ground were standing up before, but we've had rain all week, and I think the weight of water trapped in the folds of the leaves pulled it down.

As you can see, it was sunny earlier this afternoon, but then later we had a wild storm with lightning and wind and hail. Power went off briefly, and internet was out for a while. It just came back on about an hour ago.

Well, that's what happens when you displease the Thistle Beast: storms and lightnings and such. You should offer it sacrifice to appease it. I hear they like foxes with two tails.

Also: I think you need more sun. You're looking a little sketchy, there.

Walter Reimer

"Rain?" What is this "rain" of which you speak?

Pretty impressive, indeed. Also impressive, if maybe only to me and in a different way: For all the time I've been following you here and on FA, this is the first time I can remember seeing a picture of (mostly) you.

Tea and soup. Mind you remove all the prickers.

Vet

That's an impressive thistle.

tegerio

That looks like it would be more trouble than it's worth.

Everyone's assuming that I am the man in the photograph.

The mystery continues...
