This weekend I've gone and updated the content for lesson 4. As I did with lesson 3 last week, I added 3 new demos with recordings, plus a 40 minute intro video to cover basic concepts regarding how construction applies to this subject matter.

Unfortunately I won't be able to do the same for lesson 5 for a few weeks, as I'll be on vacation. I hope to get on that soon after I return.

You can find the full lesson here: http://drawabox.com/lesson/4, but don't forget to complete lessons 1 and 2 (the basics), as well as lesson 3 before starting this one. Drawabox is a series of free structured drawing lessons that explore the basic mechanics of drawing, along with the fundamental skills of capturing the illusion of solid form and constructing complex objects from their simplest components. I'm having trouble trying to draw the ladybug from a different angle. From the image you use, there are clearly three balls which you show in your demonstration, but when I look at the ladybug from a different angle, I can't see those three balls and I can't seem to get the pieces to fit together. Would you be able to do a quick sketch for a ladybug at a different angle showing how understanding the construction makes it possible to rotate the image?

Could you give me a specific reference image to work from? I wouldn't want to try another angle and then have it not be one that is particularly helpful in your situation.
