Sul Sul! The ice/roller-skate interaction is available for testing! Yay!

This has got to be one of the most frustrating single interaction to insert into the game. Everything that could break, broke and broketh it did. From animations to posture to angles to constraints to routing to events and the list goes on. I finally gave in and overrode the skating rinks which calmed things down but oof. I'm steering clear of routable surface objects for now. These things are complicated..😵 

Anyhoo, the torment is over. Didn't manage to make a non-override but learned some handy things which I can't wait to apply to new projects!  

Test notes:

Sims require level 3 hidden skating skill to perform this routine. A tooltip will appear if they do not meet the requirement.

Increases fitness and skating skill; fame and friendship, energetic and outdoorsy lifestyle.

Only shows up on large skating rinks.

Installation

Put the package file into your mods folder.

Conflicts

This mod overrides the large skating rink objects from Seasons.

Final Note

I removed the song associated with this routine because the skating rink has sims radio. Especially recommend pairing this routine with 'Yab Lash' (At last) from the romance channel!

There is a point in the routine where both skaters become flat and then recover. Was during roller rink routine. Haven’t tried ice yet. Had other mods loaded as well.

Hi Jletar, I'm unable to reproduce this issue but I know flat animations do happen with some computers. Do you know from which point/time or screenshot do the dancers become flat? It'll help me figure out where to start fixing. Can you also check if the issue can be temporary mitigated through switching off laptop mode or changing the quality to high (might require a restart). Thanks for the quick feedback.

I will do additional testing, but they start on the left side of the rink and when they hit a point on the right side they flatten and even split into two images. On returning over that same line they go back to normal. This is on a PC so no laptop mode. Will check settings for quality.

Hi, did additional testing but probably need to wait until we know what’s coming Patch wise. It happens with just this mod installed. Happens on both rinks. Only happens on couple skate, not individual. Occurred on two different computers. Neither were laptops. I can DM you screenshot if needed.

Hi! Thank you so much. That's really helpful. I want to let you know that I've started working on a fix for this. It likely has to do with the dancers' positions relative to their starting point so if it's not too much trouble, could you dm a screenshot of the the 'line' you mentioned earlier? Quick question do the sims have to be romantically involved for this interaction to work. Is there a level of friendship or romance they have to have in order for the interaction to work. At the moment the large rink just keeps saying skate around the rink to unlock the interaction. Both sims have a high 6 skill level of skating skills
