This is fire. That’s all that can be said.

WAIT THIS HAS MADE MY DAY

AllyBoo124

Fair warning I’m about to get very not normal about this, this one of my all time favorite movies/franchises. I saw the first one when I was like child and even on a rewatch they don’t let me down, I love them so much omg.

But that's how the native Americans were. They were one with the earth. They lived with it not on it.

AllyBoo124

They have a long like tube coming out of their back of their had with the spindly things on the end called a kuru, they braid their hair around it

AllyBoo124

This movie is definitely very straightforward, and like I said I saw it when I was a kid and it’s held a special place in my heart since then. but the world building is so unique and rich and they put so much thought into it and I really appreciate that

AllyBoo124

Once Jake becomes Toruk he’s literally like the most powerful person ever, as neytitri says there have only been five since like dawn of time and now Jake is the 6th, the one before him was neytiri’s great great grandfather. To defy toruk makto is like insanity and would never happen, he’s like doubly proved himself

You need to watch the How To Train Your Dragon trilogy. It's sooooo good!

AllyBoo124

In the extended version they explain that humans have completely destroyed earth and nature, there’s like no greenery or vegetation and the life span is getting shorter and the economy is terrible all around. Another reason why it’s not crazy for Jake to leave because everything has gone to shit back on earth environmentally, and that’s why the navis care for nature is so foreign to this specific generation because they like don’t gaf. Although you would think a normal person would want to preserve this planet’s environment after knowing where they come from but they’re all just about the unobtanium and the bottom line.

AllyBoo124

Also the effects for 2009 like you could not tell me the Navi weren’t real

AllyBoo124

Also I said before the plot is straightforward, but like does everything have to be overly complicated, like it’s funnnnn why can’t we just vibe and have fun. Use your imagination and immerse yourself inside the world. Life changing is def a stretch but it’s such a good time and a cool world.

There was an older avatar game where you could choose between the natives and the humans I loved that game better than ubisofts new one

Ciana

No fucking wayyyyyy

Ciana

Im so happyyyy, I know people have lots of criticisms of these movies but I love them💕💕

Paulina

Not from a book, BUT James Cameron worked on Avatar since like 1994 officially, But he dreamt about it and painted pictures of the environment since he was a teenager

Ciana

I wish someone told u to watch the extended version, its about 15 minutes longer and imo is the better version just because its adds much better context and lore. This movie came out when I was 9 and absolutely rocked my world, at the time I had never seen anything like it. I think thats why some people rate it so highly when others dont, for some of us who saw this come out in 2009 and were kids, it really felt life changing lol as an adult i love these movies and the nostalgia it brings. I can see why it doesn’t necessarily hold up in terms of storytelling and such

saphira

ok come on white savior movie. the visuals are stunning and the acting is honestly good

sherwin

At the time this was the peak of production value and 3d motion capture + CGI ect. It’s nice looking now but back when it came out before modern tech and AI it Literally raised the bar and forced other productions to up their game. Deserves its flowers for that alone !
