But just the first Christmas, and it's a shit line because it doesn't include all the holidays, now does it.

Is it just me, or did anyone else think Nik asserting his dom-inance after the floor mat/seat cushion question was hot 🔥 as fuq?!

-Speaking of silence and how the “absence of all things does not exist,” I’m reminded of a story, where the magic users meditate. The main character, aiming for complete quiet, tries to silence this really annoying pounding noise they hear while meditating. Turns out the pounding was their heart, and by trying to silence it they almost died. Feels like an appropriate metaphor. (from Wild Magic, Tamora Pierce) Also referring back to ‘the pool’ is really interesting after listening to DeReynard, with the idea of water as a time-travel device. -Uncle Forge Bear being in a one-room cottage where every wall is a bookshelf; I really enjoy the idea that each of your characters have a ton of books–but they’re all very different books. -I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; you are a delightful menace. Which word in that phrase gets emphasized can change, but overall it’s always true. -Rise of the Guardians is the best. It has a different aim than the book series, and I actually like the movie better. Also, it’s really cool if we take what you said about stories and ‘speaking things into existence/filling the space’ and apply it to dreamspace. The space could be occupied by Pitch, but it doesn’t have to be. -Titans eating crayons: if they serve your nutritional needs, I see no issue. Heck, maybe that’s your secret to gaining extra Resilience. Also, I’m not going to give out what I can’t take; this is equal opportunity friendly mocking. It’s more fun that way, and I would never disrespect my ride. -We should come up with something better for every time you bring up Nazis–not a quarter in the jar, because that’s meeting a negative with a negative. It wouldn’t balance out. Since the nazis looted and burned the Institut für Sexualwissenschaft (which was getting the ball rolling on a lot regarding lqbtqia folks), let’s say ‘every time Nik brings up nazis, he has to say something related to sexual freedom and/or sexual joy.’ Oh wait, he does that every day that ends in -y! It already balances out! There can be so much spite in enjoying things, and loudly cheering on differences. Having both (commentary on nazism/general fascism and finding a combative joy in things they hate) is filed under ‘Yet Another Reason Jo Loves Being Here.’ -The combined skills of the members of the Library could prevent whatever Apocalypse you accidentally start. I believe in us. -I am very much looking forward to the deep sea story. The ocean = vast/terrifying/amazing, and if you go deep enough, you get to see everything from God’s goth period. -Any full-ass demon in the library is going to have practical needs and practical weaknesses–so you’re saying they’re beatable. They’re bothersome and potentially scary (like Decaf), but not creatures of absolute power. I’m going to go back to Rise of the Guardians, and say they’re like Pitch. They may feel unbeatable. But they’re not. -’More confidence than self-analysis,’ I am weirdly fascinated by that (even though you said those folks can be the biggest jerks). While paralysis by analysis is certainly a thing, I think I spent too many years watching tape of myself to have anything ever outweigh self-analysis. -The fact that you’re reading the Ethical Slut makes me really happy. I love that book as a pep talk for taking a different approach.
