Given your love of traveling through time & space, ‘your’ day could be any and all of the days, including a solar punk one where your anti-fascism t-shirt cannon worked better than you could’ve ever hoped! ‘Hang up the business you,’ is right. The blazer may stay on, but there’s a whole other range of facial expressions that the office never sees. You planted the seed of the Library–do we prune it? I think we’re more geared toward installing trellises and making sure that fertilizer is the beneficial kind as opposed to the kind that just stinks. The group punishment thing can work, as long as the perpetrator is correctly identified and it doesn’t lead to future bullying. “Create a mess that may outlive you,” is good phrasing though. Every time you talk about your kids being clever my brain responds with “careful Icarus…” I always worry about self-reflection devolving into self-bullying. I use the metaphor of ‘watching the tape,’ because I’m a jock, but also because watching the tape has inherent limits. At some point I have to turn the tape off, get out of the dark room where I’ve been watching it, get on the field and train. Watching the tape is only going to do so much. And even with that built-in check, I get stuck. The idea is good, the extremes are bad. Kind of like everything. NFTBI truly going international! Or having office chairs made out of turkey skulls. Can we somehow have both? Italian-made chairs of turkey skulls? The remote cabin does seem like the result of a head injury. I’m glad for the wonderful dream, but how hard would you have to get hit on the head to have it? Locomotion, momentum, kinetic energy…so you’re telling us to do the locomotion? And that’s today’s earworm! “Become the unstoppable juggernaut of yourself.” That’s my new favorite. It might need to be art. The D stands alone? It must be lonely, we should find it a friend.
