Hey everyone and thank you for joining myself and Lewis as we watch the 2002 superhero movie - Spider-Man.

I was a little confused with this as it is not a part of the Madness Timeline but is a Marvel movie!

As there are a few we have been informed that we could watch these first ones now (especially before Civil War as that is when it joins the MCU)

What an amazing and totally unexpectedly good movie! for some reason I didn't think it was going to be as good as this.

Thank you my Patrons for watching along and for your continued love and support.

My favorite spiderman was Andrew Garfield, I thought he played the best Peter, and had the best comedic timing of the comic spidey. Toby's spidey will always have a special place in my heart though.

Just to clear something up, it's not necessarily "This" Spider-Man that joins the MCU in Civil War. I know you know this isn't the only Spider-Man to exist but yeah. It's a different one than Tobey. But of course, it's very good to know the origins of Spider-Man and these origins will become important later on in the MCU. So either way it's good you're checking them out! Tobey Maguire has 3 Spider-Man movies. Andrew Garfiled has 2, called the Amazing Spider-Man moves. And then Tom Holland has his time as well. So yep, Lewis hit the nail right on the head. So for why the Marvel logo, all Marvel movies have a Marvel type intro. The comic book pages flipping is iconic. The MCU that you've been watching, is a specific corner of Marvel that is now kind of the main spotlight. But before Iron Man 1 kicked off the MCU, there were plenty of Marvel movies that aren't connected to the MCU. The Spider-Man movies for one. Ghost Rider, The Fantastic 4 movies, The Fox X-Men Movies, just to name some. Are all Marvel comics based, but they aren't in the MCU because it didn't exist yet. Spider-Man was created directly by Stan Lee. And there's a core idea of who he is. It's something you'll see more of when you watch more movies. And the Tobey movies are literally like comic books come to life. These movies changed the game and honestly helped comic book movies become what they are now. Green Goblin was played expertly by Willem Dafoe. To help prepare for the role, the director, Sam Rami, gave Willem a copy of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. It helped him to get in touch with the duality of Norman and the Green Goblin. It's downright scary how good he is at switching back and forth. It feels completely real, even though you know it's not. Kinda sad when you think about it. Norman made one mistake by testing the Serum on himself, and it drove him insane and cost him his life, even though he wasn't really a bad* guy. Anyways, I can't wait for you to see Spider-Man 2. It's easily one of the best Spider-Man movies out there, and captures a lot of the core of who Spider-Man is.
