Hey everyone, thank you so much for joining myself and Lewis as we embark on another journey with the wizarding folk!

This is 2002's Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

We absolutely loved the first one and we had been looking forward to watching this instalment!

This did not disappoint in the slightest, what a truly amazing movie.

The spell Lucius Malfoy tries to use against Harry in the Dobby liberation scene was improvisation by Jason Isaacs. It's one of my favorite stories from the set of the movies. In the books (and presumably, the film script) Malfoy doesn't get a chance to begin incanting his spell. Dobby blasts him first. So, we have no idea what spell he intended to use on Harry. Isaacs didn't care for this, however, and felt that beginning to speak an incantation would be more dramatic, so he hastily asked around on the set to see if anyone knew any spells since he didn't know any. A member of the crew supplied him with the only spell HE knew (though he apparently didn't know what its effect was supposed to be) and Isaacs just decided to run with it on the spur of the moment. The trouble is, the spell he was about to say, "Avada Kedavra" is the Killing Curse, and would have killed Harry instantly where he stood had he finished casting it. So, while the Lucius Malfoy in the books was a self-serving coward in most every respect, thanks to a bit of improv, in the films, he once tried to murder Harry Potter in broad daylight on the Hogwarts grounds mere feet from where Albus Dumbledore sat in his study. Man was a savage, lol.

Fun fact, the actor for Lucius Malfoy was also the voice actor for the Grand Inquisitor in Star Wars Rebels, and the actress who plays Moaning Myrtle also voices a beloved character in Star Wars: Episode IX - I won't give away who though since you've yet to get to the sequels.
