HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF BLOOD PRINCE- HARRY POTTER 6

A few things the film omits from the book (because listing all would take forever): The book explores not only the time Voldemort spent in the orphanage, but more broadly, his origins. Voldemort was the son of Tom Riddle Sr., a rather wealthy muggle, and Merope Gaunt, a witch from the powerful, albeit inbred and impoverished Gaunt family. Merope's father and brother (Voldemort's grandfather and uncle, respectively) were abusive pureblood supremacists that were imprisoned in Azkaban for assaulting Tom Riddle Sr. While they were in prison Merope bewitched Tom Riddle into eloping (either through a love potion or with the Imperius curse) and having a child with her. While she was pregnant, she stopped, however, believing that he'd fall in love with her naturally, or at least that he'd remain with her due to her being pregnant with his child, but as it turned out, he left her, which left her mentally broken, and she died soon afterwards, leaving Tom Jr. to be raised in an orphanage, unaware of his lineage. When he found out, he initially thought that his magical abilities came from his wealthy father, and when it turned out that it was, in fact, his dirt poor mother who came from a wizard family, he was very displeased, and decided to kill his father, as well as his paternal grandparents, using his uncle's wand, and altering his memories, so that he'd think that he was the one who killed them, thus framing him. Also, while Bellatrix says Draco should be "honored" to be tasked with killing Dumbledore, in the book, it was actually meant as a way to punish Lucius for failing to obtain the prophecy from the last movie/book.

Btw, I agree that Slughorn is a very interesting character, and I think it would be interesting for you to know that he's actually a Slytherin.

Definitely my favorite one, followed by the deathly hallows part 2, after that it goes in order

And now to wait another 2-3 weeks for the next one

The reason Snape looked at Harry when they mentioned the bezoar is because in the first book/first movie (extended version), Snape lectures Harry in the first potions class about the bezoar being used as an antidote for most poisons. It’s a subtle nod to Harry remembering that Snape taught him that and Harry actually taking his advice

Another great reaction. Once again, you analyzed the movie quite well and picked up on a lot of clues, making great guesses as to what will happen. I also love how as the movies progress, they get darker in tone and feel. The next two fit right in and continue that. One of my all time favorite series....I re-watch them every once in a while because they're that good. And Snape....yes, one of my favorite characters.
