HARRY POTTER 7 DEATHLY HALLOWS! PART 1

You should watch the deleted scenes for this movie. There is one with Harry and Dudley, that (without spoiling too much) shows that they've managed to reconcile in the end, and another one with Petunia.

On the topic of Bellatrix acting childlike, that is how Helena Bonham Carter plays her, not how she was described in the book. In the book, she was sadistic, but she was also very elegant, and much less unhinged than her movie version

Also, you've probably missed it, but during the Polyjuice transformation scene, Ron said "I knew she was lying about the tattoo". That's a reference to a scene in the Half-Blood Prince book where Ginny told Harry, Ron and Hermione that "all Romilda Vane does is ask me if it's true you (Harry) have got a hippogriff tattooed across your chest", and then Ron asked Ginny what she told her, and Ginny said "I told her it's an Hungarian Horntail."

Please don't google stuff about the movie while you're watching it, one reactor ruined pt2 for themselves right at the worst moment. If you don't know, just don't know.

Another thing: Not all the people on the list in Umbridge's office were muggleborn. Ron and Moody were both pure-bloods, while Harry and Dumbledore werehalf-bloods, not muggleborns (the term muggleborn refers only to wizards whose both parents were muggles). Furthermore, in both their cases, their mothers were muggleborn witches, not muggles.

Yet another thing (Yes, I know, I write a lot, but I write these as I watch): an interesting, and slightly disturbing detail is that patronuses are fueled by positive emotions, so just imagine how joyful Umbridge must've felt at the hearing to keep materializing a patronus for its entirety.

it's been a while since I read the books but I think Voldemorts mother who was an abused witch gave his muggle father love potion and he was conceived under it which is why he's incapable of feeling love, his mother thought his father had grown to love her and stopped giving him the potion but he actually left her, he later went back and killed his muggle family - this and so much more about Voldemort was explored in half blood prince but the movie just skipped over it all 😭

Caine

The snake tackling Harry through the wall ended up with his stuntman being paralyzed from the neck down

Jose Alvarado

Voldemort is a half blood same with Harry and Snape. Dumbledore is a pure blood I believe

Joshua Johnson

I saw that too and when she went to google I was like o god please no don’t!!

Yeah. Elven magic is different. They can ignore human rules as much as they want. Question is: how did they got enslaved by the wizard kind, considering how so much OP they are compared to them.

I find it very hard to sync up my own copy of the movie with yours. Which is how most other reactors choose to do this. You don't have the whole movie visible... So I want to sync my own copy. But you include the movie audio with your reaction which makes it difficult. Also you pause and restart the movie which also makes it difficult. How are others here watching these full length reactions? Are y'all not trying to watch your own copy? Thanks.

Tori H.

No I just listen to the audio lol because she’s more analyzing rather than strictly reacting that’s how I consume this content

Barry

I had the same problem with the Marvel movies and I could not finish watching them. It took me a minute to get the sync just right because of the audio but then a few minutes later she would pause and/or rewind and I would have to spend the next couple of minutes resyncing just for her to do it again. I was planning to watch the LOTR and Harry Potter reactions but it didn't look like it was any better so I ended up cancelling my subscription.

AC10

Thanks for sharing. I'm afraid I'm looking to do the same. I love full length reactions but only when I can actually see the movie. Her commentary is great. I hope she sees this and considers a different approach in the future some time.

There's a difference between unedited and watchalong. Some reactors watch in a way that allows you to keep up with your own copy, but it's very disruptive to keep synced if the reactor pauses or rewinds. Some reactors like to pause, discuss, analyse, and rewind. Colette is that kind of reactor. It isn't suited to watching along, so I wouldn't bother trying. I'm familiar enough with the movies at this point that I don't need to watch - just the audio and her commentary is enough.

The wandmaker that Voldemort killed was Gregorovitch. I believe Ollivander was Great Britain's favourite wandmaker, but European wizards are more likely to get one from Gregorovitch. Gregorovitch had possession of the Elder Wand at one point, which is why Voldemort went to him - he was the last known to have had it. Also, there was no point in lying to him - in Order of the Phoenix we learn that Voldemort is expert in Legilimency, which is why they had Snape give Harry lessons in resisting it.

Ollie

You're right about not telling Voldemort the actual "truth" since he will murder you regardless. Gregoro was terrified and thought he would live. Ollivander on the otherhand is a Ravenclaw and keeps giving Voldemort information in the form of riddles because he thinks that he won't figure it out. However, he underestimated how determined and smart Voldemort can be. Voldemort also tortures his victims, which is why they give in to giving him information because they are terrified. Just as you said, this whole franchise is symbolism for WWII. They are afraid of Voldemort just as people were afraid of Hitler. That's why each movie gets darker and darker like the books with Deathly Hallows being the darkest of them all. I find the whole movie depressing and sad because it makes me think of the Holocaust. The listening to the radio thing was disturbing because a lot of Jewish people would be listening to the radio hoping for good news. Everyone is pretty much in the hiding like people did in WWII. It's quite sad and depressing. I would say you are a Ravenclaw since you pick up on a lot details and have a curious mind. The trio were lacking on proper sleep, stress, and nutrition (food).
