RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES *yOUTUBE EDIT*

In modern biological classification (cladistics), what you read off the Internet is not totally correct. Monkey, if it is to be a biologically meaningful classification, is synonymous with simian (infraorder Simiiformes). Apes include the great apes (such as humans, chimps, bonobos, gorillas, and orangutans) and the lesser apes (such as gibbons). A clade includes a common ancestor and ALL of its descendants. The first primates were not humans, apes, or monkeys. Some primates then evolved into monkeys; since monkeys evolved from certain primates, all monkeys ARE primates. Some monkeys evolved into apes; since apes evolved from certain monkeys, all apes ARE monkeys, and ARE primates. Some apes evolved into humans; since humans evolved from certain apes, all humans ARE apes, and ARE monkeys, and ARE primates. The attributed-based definitions work for most cases, but not all. As for apes not having tails, that depends; if we use common names, then barbary apes are apes, but they do have tails. Also, the barbary ape is not large like chimps, humans, gorillas, or orangutans, it is small like a monkey. As for monkeys having hair on their face ... so do humans. I had to shave every day when I was in high school. Look down to your last movie review of Logan and see the hair on his face.

45:40 Is the turning point, where the swap starts: Colette goes feral and then the apes begin speaking English.
