I thought Isla's robes looked Far East Asian, but I wasn't sure if they were just supposed to be "flowing ghost robes" or a representation of her actual clothes when she was alive. Kinda wondering if all the changes to Jennifer's mom are temporary or more permanent, also wondering if Jennifer's mom is going to remember all of this. Keep up the great work on the series.

It’s a few things. Her robe, the Japanese used in the art of Isla in Anya’s banner and the cake from the Valentine’s Day comic, namedropping Edo on this page means she’s pretty old and probably had a decent amount of time to learn English. There are too many small hints for me to think it’s just coincidence. We can’t confirm anything until Anya puts it to writing, but I think she was Japanese.

Fair, so then how did her spirit get to North America? Edo became Tokyo shortly after contact with the USA (and I'm sure locals didn't just change what they called it overnight), so there's a chance she's from the mid-late 1800s and managed to get herself over to the US before dying. Could have been a kinky sex worker before she became a kinky ghost.
