I think it depends - the way the characters were set up made me root for them a little to much to not find the bad end a little depressing. But for this story a bad end is for sure fitting and has a great impact.

I have the answer, and it’s one word. 🏳️‍🌈Magic.🏳️‍🌈 I’m being serious, otherwise a painting that’s most likely been around for hundreds or even more than a thousand years wouldn’t have a demon inside, and more so with how many souls she’s collected over that timeframe without people on the outside connecting the dots. (BTW, I know that it’s just a made-up story for our entertainment and I might be putting a real-world spin on this answer, but it actually would work for this scenario since she can’t call people in until they’re right in front of her.)

I've heard this has been a growing thing online; for some reason, there's a ton of people out there that really, really want certain characters to be "femboys" rather than trans women (or whatever else would be a more accurate term in a fantasy story where people are magically transformed). Apparently that whole dynamic has precedent online outside of gender-bender comics on Patreon.

Exactly I'm a trans woman myself and like its fine if the author doesn't want to refer to them as such but they definitely aren't femboys they have boobs and feminine fat distribution.

Same, I'm also a trans woman. Honestly, I get the vibe that a lot of the people that insist on referring to certain characters (and some real-life people, I gather) as "femboys" are doing so for kind of fetish-y reasons. Like, the idea of someone being a femboy does it for them more than any other label or context. And yeah, I'm with you—insofar as these comics are concerned, most of the time we're looking at women with penises. Seems a huge stretch to call someone a "femboy" when their only physically masculine trait is having a penis.

Hmmm... does this mean the original story with Steve took place 16 years ago and now we're in the present day? Also, shocked no one in the past years that came looking for the missing people found the painting. Does it only allow itself to be found by those it judges to be likely victims?

Amazing piece. I've said it before - Futa really isn't my kink. -However- your story kept me engaged and interested, which really speaks to how good as it is since it's really not something that I'd follow normally. Wonderful art, the right amount of eroticism, the feeling of slowly building dread... all of it, quite wonderful. Congratulations on crafting such a dark and beautiful tale. Indeed! Very brave choice on Anya's part to end it that way. I'm a sap for happy endings so I was definitely holding out hope it would be more uplifting, but I have massive respect for Anya going with the creative choices she made. Very powerful.
