Webtoon Halloween Collab (Patreon)

It's is time for the annual Halloween Collab on our BL server and this year's theme is supernatural AU. * v * I was so excited! ₍₍⚞(˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶)⚟⁾⁾But I couldn't really decide on a composition at first. My very first idea was a bit more spooky with Hazuki's hand reaching out of the picture. (our artworks will be arranged in frames on a wall along stairs in the final upload) But I thought assembling that would be rather difficult so I scrapped that idea. I definitely wanted to show both Hazuki's ghost-like features with floating and Forte being a vampire. And made more drafts.

Side note: Hazuki isn't really a ghost in the Supernatural AU, as he's not dead (otherwise Forte wouldn't be able to drink his blood or touch him). He belongs to a group of people with special powers that allow him to turn semi or fully transluscent, invisible, float, and phase through other matter. They're officially called "Phaser" for that reason but poeple often wrongly call them "Ghosts" because of those shared abilities. Their hair and eyes have an iridescent shimmer and reflect light a bit differently than normal humans. In the end I came to like the sketches at the bottom most, with the one on the left being ultimately being chosen for the collab piece with little alterations. I think I'll also finish the one on the right some time later, because I have a vision for this one.

I really liked the sketch without clothes... XDD I didn't feel like dressing them up but unfortunately it had to be done. 8D Otherwise webtoon would come for my throat.

I was very excited to apply the iridescency in Hazuki's design and I had a lot of fun with it! Looking forward to experiment more with it in future artworks!

Since I didn't have any ideas concerning the BG for this composition i just slapped a gradient and a bunch of effects on the canvas. This is what I can do best XDD In the end it turned out very dreamy despite me having me a more mysterious atmosphere in mind XD But it's pretty and I like the colors. And who says It always has to be gloomy and dark just because uhh there's a vampire. XD

Now that I think about it, I really enjoy the dynamic of a vampire who avoids light and the phaser who is all about reflecting/manipulating light.

So yeah, I just wanted to share the my thought processes behind this artwork XD Hope you enjoy~ ^^
