The tower is 200ft tall. Richard's eyeballing it was incredible. So hard to judge height of something from the bottom of it. Richard's bouncing must be one of the flukiest things in the history of the show. Chloe is Ed reborn.

I thought the same about Richard’s haircut and even his facial hair too! I’ve never seen him on any other show with stubble like that to them have it vanish. I swear he’s trying to fuck with Alex and Greg on a Rhod Gilbert level.

Crystal Maze was a big game show in the 90s with different zones and challenges, and the hosts (Rocky Horror's Richard O'Brian, and another dude called Ed) helped build a sort of whimsical fantastical universe that the maze existed in. They rebooted the show a few years back with Richard as host and he did not engage with the whimsy at all and it didn't really seem to pick up.

Isy's husband, Elis James, would be a high up on my bucket list for Taskmaster contestants. He gets flustered so easily, but hes also just a fun kind person I think would shine on the show. He has a segment on his podcast with John Robins where he has to find a connection with a fellow Welsh person in under 60 seconds and you can see how much it eats up inside him. He has become a national treasure in Wales for it. Also side note, but Phil Dunster was on their podcast a while ago, and he said that the producer on Elis & John, Dave Masterman, was the inspiration behind Jamie Tartts' accent on Ted Lasso

It was very much a big inspiration for Alex to create Taskmaster. Also I watched some of the Richard episodes, and I think it still works. The personal hand grabber definitely adds to the whimsy.

Alex's magic pointer finger is back! When your internet drops around the 44:35 minute mark, the circling connecting indicator is centered perfectly on Alex's fingertip, making it look like he's casting a magic spell. It's like that time when he pointed to an eggplant taped to the wall and it fell off at that exact instant.
