20 million people in the UK watched this. 20 million. Just to drive home the cultural impact this show had/has in the UK

If you get time there's a documentary that came out with the finale which is worth a watch, good behind the scenes. Also the toast at the end was a reference to Smithys speech at Gavin and Staceys wedding in series 1. Glad you enjoyed this!

Also on the Corden thing, in the UK Gavin and Stacey is the only project he's created that people actually enjoy. He's really not a nice person (even him and the actor who played Gavin fell out because the fame went to his head). But around this time he had moved back to the UK and calmed down - making up with Matt Horne.

Gavin & Stacey: A Fond Farewell is worth a watch too. Is the documentary to the lead up the finale. With archive footage.

Thank you for your genuine reaction to this lovely show. It's been an absolute pleasure to watch!

I honestly can't believe how emotional this finale makes me at times like Nessa has always been fairly irreverent, even when she was marrying Dave etc but seeing her actually seem a bit sad/heartbroken really makes it hit you it's like seeing The Doctor scared in Doctor Who, rarely happens to it stands out etc

there's something really nice about seeing Gwen finally living her own life after sorta being everyone's doormat in the core show, even if it was always played for comedy.

I actually do find it amusing how little Gavin and Stacey's kids play into these episodes, especially Harry given the big stress they had trying to get Pregnant but Neil being more important makes sense, he was a more pivotal character even as a baby

It's been so fun seeing your reactions to this show! Sadly all good things must come to an end but still looking forward to future show & movie reactions 😊

DSJ.

Sonia is an excellent villain. Kind of the archetype of the female abuser... 'Nessa and Smithy' at the end - Gavin and Stacey saying the true name of the show ;)
