Fun little side thing. Luke Smith (Tommy Knight) adopted child of Sarah Jane was in another show after this called Waterloo Road (School Drama) funnily enough he gets adopted by a teacher who's actor was Clive. So in a parallel universe Clive adopted Luke.

After this, you've got about 4/5 specials before Series 5. Next one up is The Next Doctor, the 2008 Christmas special!

Charlie Calver

Doctor: what will you do now? Noel Clarke: uhhh, best not to ask

Alice Collins

Omg him skipping the credits sequence for the last episode is maddening. THAT is the ONE intro you HAVE to see XP

When the Doctor and Rose were talking with the Torchwood team and mentioned the 1800s and Gwen saying "Cardif Family dating back to the 1800s" in the Charles Dickens Gas Ghost episode (The Gelf stuck in the rift) the lady who sacrificed herself (Gwyneth) was played by the same woman.

Good luck with the house hunting and the move. I know it’s really challenging out there at the moment. Davros created the daleks. Given the daleks believe they are superior to all other lifeforms, they have a bit of an odd relationship with their creator. Sarah-Jane was there when Davros created them. Donna’s exit is truly heartbreaking. It feels so unfair. She was such a brilliant character. Oh, and a tip on how to pronounce Capaldi (from the man himself): if you want to be his PAL, it’s Ca-PAL-di. It will probably be ages before you need it though. 🙂

Woop woop, it's the sound of the police

Yeah, I remember being upset that Rose got her happy ending (which I didn't care for at all) and Donna got screwed over like this.

AmyWonderland92

Oh my god, I didn't even put that together XD

AmyWonderland92

I've seen it a thousand times, and It STILL Breaks my fucking heart watching her get her memory wiped!

Ahh, so Davros. The last great Classic Who villain, if you don't include him with the Daleks. If you ever do any Classic Who reactions, then Genesis of the Daleks which introduces him, is one of the great ones. And that's where Sarah Jane knows them from, as you accurately guessed. Yeah, us Whovians were very excited when we heard that voice and saw that silhouette. Davros is just iconic, almost as much as the Daleks.

I'm not a massive fan of this one. I'm not a massive fan of any of Russell's finales. As with the others, good setup, but a fumbled resolution; this time he had to turn Donna into a superhuman, like he did with Rose in Ecclestone's finale. And we're in peak finale problem here where everything has to be bigger and more apocalyptic than before, huge chunks of the galaxy/universe get destroyed, but we all know that has to be rolled back, and that's exactly what happened here, again (as it did with the Master's plan being undone so it never happened).

Basically it just featured all the main actors names at once. David Tennant, Catherine Tate, Billie Piper, Freema Agyman, Camille Coduri, Noel Clarke, Elizabeth Sladen, John Barrowman

Joshua Smith

This episode ends so sadly. Love Donna and the Doctor together. Would suggest you react to this 6 minute sketch that was part of a telethon. Catherine Tate doing one of her characters and David Tennant. https://youtu.be/WxB1gB6K-2A?

Someone will have mentioned about Sarah Jane having her own show but K9 didn't appear in the first couple of seasons because the creator of K9 (classic writers retain rights over people/monsters) was trying to do their own spin-off based in Australia. Also maybe worth mentioning that Martha appeared in a few episodes of Torchwood series 2, they had a slight....um...staffing issue... that kind of sorted itself out. No longer an issue by this point. Torchwood series 3 (subtitled, Children of Earth) which came after this was a miniseries (just 5 episodes that were broadcast across one week). It's an incredible drama, don't need much context from S1/2 (other than Jack and Ianto being a couple), and you'll really see how indestructible Jack is lol.

you hit the nail on the head describing Donna's ending as black mirror-esque. for a scifi show full of tragedy and death, this still haunts me as particularly and pointedly cruel given all the self confidence and purpose she developed throughout her arc
