It was funny that before the episode you mentioned the guy that Mae had a weird on again off again thing with. I don't know if you noticed, but that was the same guy who was in this episode, doing the Guiness thing :) . For your question at the end about the gift, yes that was what Ted was giving her as a going away gift. It just said her name and Manager though, so I don't think it was saying she'll come back and be a manager (since it wasn't Richmond specific). It was basically meant to be him encouraging her that she will reach her goal of being a manager somewhere (which is also why he had to ask for it back once he convinced her to stay :P ).
