Every so often, this lady shows up and tries to convince me that my meds are 'diluting' my personality and that I don't need them because I "probably don't have depression or anxiety anymore anyway!"So yeah, we don't talk to her...

Bless your heart. There's a gentleman who visits me saying the same thing. He's best ignored.

Huh, the strangest Persona to come out of that universe yet. And while I'm more of a Jack Frost person, this one *could* be neat in combat, attacks that give the anxious debuff lol. But yeah, I feel ya there, just a few weeks ago that side got ahold of me and I ended up not taking anything for a bit over a week, blood pressure meds, antidepressants, mood stabilizer, Adderall. Needless to say it took some friends realizing I was falling apart to get shook loose from the unbelievable grip strength of Mental Illness as played by Tommy Bowe of Smosh haha

Coffee Minion

Oof. I have struggled with the whole “diluting my personality” thing as well. I put in a lot of work to try to get off my meds for that sake, only to end up back on them. I’m still learning to accept that this *is* me now, y’know?

"My meds are working and now the things they're treating isn't currently causing me problems, I guess I must not need them anymore" is all too common

Andrew Raymond

I chase my similar persona away on a daily basis.

Kathryn Fortunato

Just treat them like they're a shitty redditor and you'll find they become a lot less believable.

*cackles* My personality IS self destructive and always angry, you see!!! I miss being that way! *yeets med bottle*

This is me lol for some reason I always think I'm healed...but is bcause the meds heal me. Some people are able to get off the meds and it works out but I don't think I'm one of them (at least not right now)

Tell Anxiety Ellen that if she wants you to take her seriously she needs to put more effort into her appearance, what with her disheveled hair and bloodshot eyes. That should keep her distracted for a while. I seem to be developing a similar thing since I started therapy. After the last session, a guy showed up and started complaining that my therapist doesn't REALLY care about me and I shouldn't be revealing such vulnerable parts of myself to someone I don't even know. As with many things in my life, my first instinct has been to drink him away, but somehow that is only making him more insistent. So I'm going to try criticizing his appearance and see what happens.

Your personality it just fine. Tell her to get back in the closet and stay there.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

This is soooooo much like my brother's abusive ex-wife. Even after getting diagnosed (after 4 years together) she didn't like how the meds made her "feel not like herself", and we were all like, "THAT'S THE POINT!"

Jon Barker

Ooh. We call that 'insight'. It's a very good thing ❤️

"But I *LIKE* being functional..."

Ken Carlin

Without my meds, I die. Quickly. So it's a short conversation.

Frogger1321

We ignore this Ellen and focus efforts on Buff Ellen instead.

the.adhd.tiger

lol.. That's te persona that's technically in charge on my end

Pseudotb

This looks like a job for Buff Ellen

I appreciate you being open and honest about these kinds of struggles. Especially with all the dickwads that try to tear you down. You're a strong woman, not strong enough to go off your meds mind you, but still incredibly strong.

David Coley

Always remind myself that last time I did i got brain Zapps for months and it drove me insane.

Go, you Huskies!

Oh, hey. Maybe your go-off-your-meds self can be friends with my go-off-your-meds-self. Maybe then they'll let us alone.

StSquiggy

And you thought Ellen was unhinged BEFORE... 🤣
