Chapter 141: Establishing a Mutant Nation
Silver Manor. Master bedroom, second floor.
After an intense one-on-two "debate on the origin of life" with Emma Frost and Clarice, Richard retreated to the bathroom alone. As he reclined in the expansive bathtub, his thoughts turned to his next course of action.
Having just returned from the Boys universe, he intended to rest properly in the Marvel Universe for a while.
Even if the system presented new world challenge opportunities tomorrow, he felt no inclination to venture into other realities immediately.
Since he planned to remain, it seemed prudent to contemplate meaningful pursuits.
Otherwise, his time in the Marvel Universe might prove tediously uneventful.
After brief deliberation, an intriguing possibility materialized.
What about visiting Wakanda?
Though Wakanda lacked high-tier combatants that might provide him worthwhile challenges, it possessed something far more interesting: vibranium. The nation's vibranium-based technology existed in a category entirely separate from the outside world's scientific advancements.
Additionally, Wakanda enjoyed the protection of Bast, the Panther God.
For Wakandans, Bast represented not merely a spiritual belief but a tangible guardian entity.
Although Bast rarely manifested in the physical realm—with only Wakanda's monarchs granted the privilege of direct communion—the deity's protective influence over the nation remained undeniable.
Without Bast's oversight, Wakanda would likely have fallen to external forces centuries ago, despite its vibranium reserves.
Richard reached his decision quickly.
Tomorrow, Wakanda!
As for whether he might appropriate Wakanda's vibranium reserves or potentially claim the entire nation as personal territory—such considerations could wait until circumstances presented themselves.
Decision made, Richard cleared his mind and surrendered to the luxurious comfort of his bath.
The following day. Noon.
After sharing lunch with Emma and the others in the manor's first-floor dining room, Richard teleported directly to the Fantastic Four's headquarters in the Baxter Building.
Seated in the building's top-floor living area, Richard addressed Johnny Storm and Susan Storm, who occupied the sofa opposite him.
"Did Reed specify his destination in Africa?" he inquired casually.
Though he suspected Reed Richards had traveled to Wakanda seeking vibranium, this remained speculation.
Before embarking for Wakanda himself, verification seemed prudent.
Otherwise, if Reed pursued different objectives, Richard would need to expend energy locating him telepathically.
Though not particularly taxing, simplicity remained preferable when available.
"He did not leave any detail note," Johnny responded. "He mentioned searching for a specialized metal unavailable elsewhere but didn't identify the material or his precise location."
"If you need to reach him, I can arrange contact."
"I'd appreciate that," Richard replied.
"No problem. Wait here while Ill loke for the satellite phone from the lab."
Johnny stood and exited the reception area.
As the Human Torch departed, Susan Storm suddenly addressed Richard. "Thank you."
"For what?" Richard's expression registered genuine confusion.
Noting his perplexity, Susan elaborated, "For supporting Johnny's foundation initiative."
"I initially dismissed it as another of his impulsive diversions. I never anticipated his genuine commitment to establishing a philanthropic organization."
"Ah..." Richard responded awkwardly. "In truth, I remain unfamiliar with the foundation's operational plans. Emma made that commitment, not me personally. I only discovered my co-presidential appointment upon arriving last evening."
Susan's expression shifted to matched embarrassment.
Upon learning of Richard's appointment, she had assumed he'd personally endorsed Johnny's proposal.
The revelation that Johnny had actually persuaded Emma Frost rather than Richard directly altered her understanding significantly.
"Though I can't speak to Johnny's specific vision for the foundation," Richard continued with a diplomatic smile, "I trust Emma's judgment implicitly."
"As the Wesley family's chief financial officer, she exercises exceptional discretion regarding expenditures."
While Richard's wealth acquisition methods diverged significantly from conventional earnings, his current fortune nonetheless represented considerable personal effort.
"Since you remain unfamiliar with the foundation's projected initiatives," Susan suggested, "perhaps I should provide a brief overview."
"As co-chairman, you should possess basic awareness of its intended functions."
Without awaiting Richard's response, she launched into a comprehensive explanation of the foundation's strategic objectives.
Initially, Richard maintained minimal interest in these details.
However, upon learning that the foundation's mission included providing essential assistance to mutants whose quality of life had been compromised by their genetic variations, his attention sharpened considerably.
Though he harbored no ambition to assume leadership within the mutant community, he couldn't deny his substantial reputation among their population.
More precisely, his standing among mutants exceeded even Magneto's influence.
His designation as "God of Mutants" stemmed partly from his demonstrated capabilities far surpassing typical mutant parameters, but equally from the reputation he had gained.
To illustrate concretely: should Richard announce his intention to establish a sovereign mutant nation, approximately 80% of the global mutant population would likely pledge immediate allegiance.
The remaining 20% would likely follow within days.
Excepting a small minority with personal grievances against him—such as relatives of mutant agents he had eliminated—the overwhelming majority of mutants would readily support the one called "God of Mutants."
Johnny Storm soon returned with the satellite phone.
Observing Susan's ongoing explanation of the foundation's operational framework, he seated himself quietly, waiting for their conversation to conclude.
Time advanced steadily.
Susan required over ten minutes to outline the foundation's developmental strategy.
After absorbing her presentation, Richard responded thoughtfully, "The foundation's approach seems fundamentally sound. I find no significant objections."
"If I were to suggest any modification, I'd recommend against deliberately highlighting historical discrimination and oppression experienced by mutants."
"The Mutant Restriction Act has been repealed. Dwelling on past injustices seems counterproductive. Better to focus energies on assisting mutants whose daily functioning remains impaired."
Richard had never considered himself virtuous by conventional standards.
However, he maintained no objection to assisting those he considered kinfolk when such actions fell within his capabilities.
Though technically serving as the foundation's co-chairman, these responsibilities would impose minimal demands on his time—merely requiring occasional decision-making.
The foundation's daily operations would fall to others.
Specifically, Johnny and Emma, serving as vice presidents.
"Absolutely," Susan agreed immediately.
As she concluded, Johnny extended the satellite phone toward Richard.
"The first number in the contact connects directly to Reed," he explained.
"Reed modified this device to interface with our private satellite and several commercial telecommunications networks."
"Regardless of Reed's location on Earth, this will establish contact."
Richard accepted the device with a nod of acknowledgment and dialed the first listed number.
The connection established promptly, Reed Richards' voice emerging clearly.
"This is Richard Wesley. Your current location—Wakanda, correct?" Richard inquired directly.
"How did you determine that?" Reed responded, surprise evident in his tone.
"I'll explain my deduction later. For now, provide your exact coordinates. I need to discuss something in person."
"Very well," Reed agreed. "My current position is east longitude..."
He proceeded to relay precise geographical coordinates.
"Done," Richard confirmed, terminating the call and returning the device to Johnny.
"I have pressing matters to attend to," he informed the Storm siblings. "I'll take my leave now."
"Of course," they responded simultaneously.
Under their watchful gaze, Richard retrieved the Cosmic Cube from his dimensional storage and manifested a spatial gateway to Wakanda directly before them.
Within seconds, a portal resembling a condensed thundercloud materialized in the room.
Without hesitation, Richard stepped through the dimensional aperture.
Emerging on the other side, he immediately encountered Reed Richards, attired in expedition gear.
Before Richard could speak, Reed preempted him: "What urgent matter requires discussion?"
"Nothing particularly urgent," Richard replied casually. "I merely wished to discuss vibranium with you."
"You're familiar with vibranium as well?" Reed's expression registered surprise.
"Beyond mere familiarity, I understand its properties and extraterrestrial origin," Richard responded.
"Incidentally, I should note that vibranium's resilience falls short of your likely expectations. Captain America's shield—composed primarily of vibranium—shattered after sustaining only a few strikes from me."
Reed's brow furrowed at this revelation.
"Occasionally, I genuinely wonder if you possess some form of omniscience," he observed. "Your knowledge seems to encompass virtually everything."
"You overestimate me," Richard countered. "I possess no such ability. I simply maintain access to diverse information sources."
"Regardless, let's return to vibranium."
"While vibranium remains Wakanda's most renowned resource, its true value may differ from your assumptions."
"Wakanda's vibranium reserves substantially exceed outside estimations."
"You've ventured here alone seeking this material. Surely your objective extends beyond merely assisting with my interdimensional travel device?"
Though Reed had yet to complete the commissioned interdimensional device apparatus, Richard's intuition suggested the scientist's current expedition served additional purposes.
"Your deduction is correct," Reed acknowledged. "I'm pursuing vibranium for multiple applications."
"The specifics remain confidential at present. I can only reveal that I'm conducting unprecedented experimental research."
"Should I succeed, fundamental paradigms may shift dramatically."
Something in Reed's earnest expression triggered an instinctive unease within Richard.
Simultaneously, various questionable decisions made by Reed Richards throughout comic continuity surfaced in his memory.
Though never classified as a villain, Reed's scientific hubris had frequently generated consequences rivaling those of dedicated antagonists.
Should I telepathically examine his intentions?
After momentary consideration, Richard abandoned this notion.
"Then I wish you success in your endeavors," he offered instead.
"Join me—I'll show you the authentic Wakanda."
"Gladly," Reed responded without hesitation.
Richard approached Reed and placed a hand on his shoulder.
Teleportation!
In an instant, both men vanished from their original location, materializing instead on an unremarkable grassland.
"Where have we arrived?" Reed inquired, surveying the seemingly ordinary terrain with visible confusion.
"Didn't I just promise to reveal the true Wakanda?" Richard reminded him. "You'll understand momentarily."
Though Reed had independently infiltrated Wakandan territory, he—like most outsiders—had observed only the deliberately constructed facade of an agrarian society that Wakanda presented to the world.
Under Reed's attentive gaze, Richard advanced several meters, drew a deep breath, and channeled mana throughout his physical form, concentrating it particularly around his right fist.
As Richard's fist began emanating blue-white mystical energy, comprehension dawned across Reed's features.
Could this grassland before us be...
Before Reed could complete his thought, Richard acted.
He thrust his mana-infused fist forcefully forward into seemingly empty space.
BOOM!
A tremendous impact resonance reverberated across the landscape!
Though invisible to conventional sight, Richard perceived the energy barrier clearly.
More precisely, a sophisticated energy shield incorporating advanced camouflage technology.
Upon impact with Richard's mystically-enhanced strike, the previously imperceptible energy barrier manifested visibly, rippling with destabilized energy.
What in the world...
Reed's expression registered profound astonishment as he observed the massive energy field materializing seemingly from nothingness.
"Those villages you encountered represent merely what Wakanda deliberately reveals to outsiders," Richard explained, turning toward Reed.
"Within this massive energy shield lies Birnin Zana—Wakanda's true capital."
While Richard could have employed stealth to infiltrate the Wakandan capital undetected with Reed, such subterfuge seemed unnecessary.
Having come this far, direct approach appeared more appropriate than continued concealment.
The true Wakandan capital?
Though the visible landscape remained largely unchanged—save for the now-visible energy barrier whose technology exceeded anything in the outside world—Reed could readily extrapolate what lay beyond.
The sheer scale and sophistication of the vibrating energy shield provided sufficient evidence that Wakanda's capital would defy all conventional expectations.
...
Chapter 142: The Winner is Justice
Although Reed Richards had invented many "black technology" devices that seemed incredible to ordinary people, his creations were typically designed for individual use, supporting at most four people simultaneously. The super-massive energy shield that could completely surround and conceal an entire city like Wakanda was on an entirely different scale from his previous inventions.
Richard ignored the shock on Mr. Fantastic's face and looked up at the giant energy shield that still shook violently from his first impact. To avoid punching straight through the energy shield before him—or rather, to avoid destroying even a small section of it—he had deliberately channeled magic to envelop his right fist. This allowed the power to dissipate to the surroundings under the blessing of magic, rather than causing a concentrated point-to-point penetration.
He knew the giant energy shield that wrapped and concealed the entire capital was one of Wakanda's pinnacle technological achievements. He also knew it wouldn't be easy to completely destroy the entire shield—but he still wanted to try.
After completing the world challenge in the Boys universe, the fusion degree of his Superboy-Prime template had increased from 7% to 17%. Though this fusion percentage wasn't particularly high—still far behind the fusion degrees of his Sephiroth template and Vergil template—it didn't mean the power granted by the Superboy-Prime template was weak. In terms of upper limits, the Superboy-Prime template far exceeded both the Sephiroth and Vergil templates. In other words, even at only 17% fusion, the strength granted by the Superboy-Prime template wasn't significantly weaker than his other templates. If it had any shortcomings, it was that the power granted by the Superboy-Prime template was relatively simple and raw, lacking the gorgeous and ostentatious qualities of the Sephiroth and Vergil templates.
Richard had originally planned only to take some vibranium from Wakanda, or perhaps more ambitiously, to claim all of Wakanda's vibranium reserves. But now—specifically after listening to the Invisible Woman's introduction to the charity foundation's future plans—he had changed his mind.
Wakanda is a beautiful place with unique vibranium and advanced vibranium-based technology. It seemed wasteful for such a country to remain in the hands of Wakandans. He was simply too kind-hearted to watch the Wakandans squander their vibranium. Since the Wakandans were keen on showing the outside world their backward agricultural lifestyle, he would satisfy their wishes and let them live the agricultural life that matched the world's perception of them. This could be seen as bringing consistency from another perspective.
After looking up and observing the still-violently trembling energy shield, and confirming its energy operation form and key nodes, Richard took a deep breath. The blue-white magic wrapping his right fist grew more dazzling. A moment later, under Mr. Fantastic's watchful gaze, he threw a second punch at the energy shield.
BANG!
When his magic-wrapped fist struck the energy shield again, a tremendous sound—like an intercontinental missile hitting its target—echoed through the air. Simultaneously, violent fluctuations from the collision spread like tsunami waves, sweeping across the entire shield in seconds. As the giant energy barrier covering Wakanda's capital began fluctuating more violently, the earth itself shook as if an earthquake had struck.
Mr. Fantastic knew Richard was powerful—the strongest mutant he'd encountered so far. But he hadn't expected Richard's punch to produce such a terrifying effect. His surprise was understandable; he had never witnessed Richard's full-strength attack. Moreover, his understanding of Richard's capabilities remained at the level from when Richard had fought Ghost Rider. Although less than six months had passed since that battle, Richard's strength had improved considerably during that time.
To put it simply: if Richard were to fight Ghost Rider now, even without using any X-gene superpowers—relying solely on the super strength and physique granted by the Superboy-Prime template—he could completely exhaust the Spirit of Vengeance's energy in minutes. He could potentially beat the Spirit of Vengeance to death with simple, raw physical attacks, ending the battle in minutes despite the Spirit's near-immortal regenerative abilities.
Unlike the shocked Mr. Fantastic, Richard frowned slightly after seeing his second punch still hadn't completely defeated the giant energy shield.
This thing is quite resilient! Richard thought to himself.
Though he had slightly underestimated the shield's defensive capabilities, he quickly moved past this realization. If two punches weren't enough, he'd throw a few more!
Without hesitation, Richard once again swung his right fist, now wrapped in swirling blue magic.
BANG!
Another massive impact reverberated for kilometers, and the shield—which hadn't fully recovered—began fluctuating even more dramatically.
BANG! BANG!
Richard wasted no time, delivering two more devastating blows with power far beyond ordinary comprehension. After being hit five consecutive times, the giant energy shield that the Wakandans took such pride in completely shattered in a way they could never have anticipated—like glass breaking on tile floor.
As the shield collapsed, the energy center near the vibranium mine and laboratory exploded. Flames soared skyward, forming a massive mushroom cloud hundreds of meters high.
Richard paid no attention to the exploding energy center. Instead, he gazed with satisfaction at the giant shield that had fallen to his brute force—or more precisely, at the hurricane-like energy dissipating around them after the shield's collapse.
Though it had taken five punches to completely defeat the energy shield, he was quite satisfied with the result. Using only magic and super strength, without calling upon his other powers, he considered this a successful demonstration.
From his perspective, this was indeed a satisfactory outcome. But from others' viewpoints, it was something else entirely.
For Mr. Fantastic, King T'Chaka, and the other Wakandans, the result was completely beyond their expectations. Mr. Fantastic was astonished that Richard's strength far exceeded his estimates. King T'Chaka and the others were stunned that their mighty energy shield had been completely destroyed with just five punches. Richard hadn't merely penetrated the shield or created an opening—he had utterly obliterated it, making their prized defensive barrier disappear entirely.
When Richard had thrown his first punch at the shield, King T'Chaka and others had received alerts from the monitoring center. But before they could even determine what was happening—just as they opened the holographic projections on their bracelets—the shield that covered their entire capital had completely collapsed. Everything happened too quickly for them to react.
In the King's Hall, after witnessing Richard demolish the giant energy shield with only five punches, T'Challa—still only a prince but having already consumed the heart-shaped herb and received Bast's blessing—said to King T'Chaka: "Father, Richard is definitely not here for vibranium this time."
"If he came for vibranium, he wouldn't need to be so aggressive."
"I have enough reason to suspect he wants to wage war against Wakanda."
Though he hadn't yet claimed the title of Black Panther, T'Challa was undoubtedly now Wakanda's strongest warrior.
After hearing T'Challa's assessment, King T'Chaka turned to Okoye, captain of the Royal Guard, with a solemn expression. "What do you think, Okoye?"
By title, Okoye was merely the Royal Guard captain, responsible for protecting the royal family. But her responsibilities extended far beyond that role. Both the current King T'Chaka and future King T'Challa placed absolute trust in her and held high expectations for her judgment.
"I agree with T'Challa," she replied, gripping her vibranium spear while standing in her Royal Guard uniform. "Although Wakanda and Richard have no open conflicts—they've barely had any contact at all—Richard has always been arbitrary and domineering. Based on his previous behavior, coming to Wakanda and displaying his strength so openly cannot be merely about vibranium."
Though Richard had good looks that appealed to women of different ages and races, many women disliked him. Okoye was among them. More precisely, Okoye not only disliked Richard but despised his domineering and unreasonable nature. In her view, only men who were steady, modest, respectful, and self-disciplined like T'Challa could truly be considered good men. As for Richard, she saw him as someone who abused his power to bully others.
After hearing Okoye's answer, King T'Chaka remained silent for several seconds before continuing: "Judging from Richard's previous behavior, he indeed appears to have malicious intentions. But before we completely fall out with him, we cannot provoke war, even though he has destroyed our city's protective shield."
"T'Challa and Okoye, go greet him on my behalf."
Perhaps due to his age, or perhaps because he recognized that Wakanda lacked the advanced combat capabilities to confront Richard directly, King T'Chaka decided to temporarily disregard Richard's hostility. Though this approach might prove futile, it was preferable to immediate conflict.
"Yes, Father," T'Challa responded.
"Yes, Your Majesty," Okoye said simultaneously.
Under King T'Chaka's watchful gaze, they turned and departed from the King's Hall.
As they left, T'Challa instructed a nearby royal guard: "Notify the elders of all tribes and request their immediate presence in the King's Hall."
"Yes, Your Highness!" replied the guard, who shared the same distinctive dark complexion as Okoye.
After issuing orders to the royal guards, King T'Chaka said nothing more. He sat silently on the vibranium throne, awaiting Richard's arrival.
On the grasslands outside the capital, having defeated Wakanda's prized city shield, Richard didn't immediately proceed into the capital with Mr. Fantastic. Instead, he stood patiently, waiting.
"You're going to make the Wakandans very unhappy by doing this," Mr. Fantastic remarked.
"If they're unhappy, so be it!" Richard replied indifferently. "There are so many people unhappy with me already—who are they to complain? Surely you haven't forgotten that the US government has always been dissatisfied with me."
"Their dissatisfaction might mean nothing to you, but this is still their country," Reed continued. "According to international legal standards, you and I are undeniably illegal. Even if they attack us immediately, they would be in the right."
Upon hearing this, Richard laughed loudly as if he'd heard an amusing joke.
In the right? No wonder you can't keep up with Susan! You really are a nerd!
Richard studied Reed, wondering how someone decades old could maintain such naive ideals.
"Do you know how I understand justice?" Richard asked.
Mr. Fantastic looked at him with surprise. "Is there a different understanding of justice?"
"Of course there is!" Richard replied. "Take me, for example. My understanding of justice differs completely from yours. In my view, justice and evil are defined by the winner. 'Justice must prevail?' Of course—because only the winner has the authority to define what justice is! The winner is justice!"
"To give a simple example: if the current world hegemon weren't the United States but instead some small Middle Eastern country, the US military would immediately be labeled terrorists. You're not a child anymore, yet you still hold such naive ideas. I find that quite surprising."
Reed clearly disagreed with Richard's statement. "You're only concerned with results. That's not justice—at least not justice as recognized by people!"
As Mr. Fantastic made this righteous declaration, Richard almost felt as if the man was glowing with a so-called "holy light."
"I understand you don't agree with me," Richard responded. "After all, everyone has different values. But you needn't try convincing me to accept your concept of justice. Let me tell you something—you know why I must kill Captain America? From a personal standpoint, there's no deep hatred between us. My desire to kill him stems not from any grudge, but because I despise the American justice he represents."
"Since we're discussing this, I'll offer you a friendly warning: never promote American justice in my presence, and don't become my enemy in the name of so-called American justice. Otherwise, I guarantee your fate will match Captain America's."
Richard spoke slowly, not threatening Mr. Fantastic but offering sincere advice. If Mr. Fantastic proved as stubbornly idealistic as Captain America Rogers, Richard would decisively eliminate him—regardless of his status as an Illuminati member and Fantastic Four leader.
Chapter 143: Wakandans Have No Fear of Death
Not long after, three strangely shaped fighter planes appeared on the horizon, their alien-like design unmistakable against the clear sky as they approached Richard and Mr. Fantastic.
Richard activated his Super Senses and X-ray vision to examine the aircraft interiors. Though he'd known for some time that Wakanda possessed Vibranium and technology far surpassing the outside world, he had never specifically sought intelligence about the secretive nation.
To be frank, he wasn't even certain whether T'Chaka or T'Challa currently sat on Wakanda's throne.
Not that it mattered much to him. Whoever ruled Wakanda wouldn't affect his plans. Unless their patron deity, the Black Panther God Bast, personally manifested in the physical world, Wakanda remained just another nation he could easily crush if necessary.
When he observed T'Challa inside the lead fighter wearing traditional Wakandan royal garments rather than the Vibranium-woven Black Panther suit, Richard deduced that T'Chaka must still be king. If T'Challa had already ascended to the throne, he would likely have arrived wearing the iconic suit instead of traditional attire.
Though T'Challa had consumed the heart-shaped herb and received Bast's blessing, he had not yet inherited the throne. As prince rather than king, wearing the Black Panther suit—reserved exclusively for Wakanda's ruler—would violate sacred traditions. For the tradition-bound Wakandans, such an act would be seen as disrespectful, potentially damaging T'Challa's standing among his future subjects.
While public disapproval wouldn't prevent his eventual succession, the prince clearly understood the importance of respecting cultural sensitivities.
The three uniquely designed Vibranium aircraft descended gracefully, hovering several dozen meters from Richard and Mr. Fantastic before landing vertically on the grass with barely a sound.
As the crafts settled, the rear hatch of the center fighter opened. T'Challa, dressed in elaborate traditional Wakandan royal garments, emerged alongside Okoye, the formidable captain of the Dora Milaje, who gripped her Vibranium spear with practiced ease. They approached Richard and Mr. Fantastic with measured strides as Royal Guards from the other two aircraft fell into formation behind them.
"Good afternoon, Mr. Richard Wesley, Mr. Reed Richards," T'Challa greeted them with diplomatic composure. "I am T'Challa, son of King T'Chaka, and this is Okoye, captain of the Royal Guard. My father has sent us to escort you to the King's Hall."
Despite Richard's recent forceful breach of Wakanda's most critical defensive shield, T'Challa's expression betrayed no anger or resentment. His royal training was evident in how perfectly he concealed his true thoughts behind a mask of diplomatic courtesy.
"Let's go," Richard replied coolly. "No need to keep your father waiting."
Reed would have preferred to explain their intentions—that they merely sought Vibranium samples for scientific research—but he recognized that opportunity had passed. The moment Richard arrived, the situation had slipped beyond his control.
T'Challa nodded silently and gestured toward the central aircraft. Richard walked calmly toward it, ignoring both Mr. Fantastic's obvious discomfort and the unconcealed hostility emanating from Okoye and her warriors.
Minutes later, the three Vibranium fighters took off vertically and banked toward the royal palace in Wakanda's capital.
Inside the cabin, Richard sat with perfect composure, seemingly unconcerned about the upcoming royal audience. Reed, by contrast, shifted uncomfortably under the penetrating gazes of T'Challa and Okoye seated across from them.
From Reed’s perspective, they were unwelcome intruders who had shattered their hosts' primary defense system—the equivalent of breaking down someone's front door. Though T'Challa maintained his diplomatic decorum, the tension was palpable, leaving Mr. Fantastic feeling profoundly uncomfortable.
The aircraft landed smoothly in the palace courtyard after a brief flight. T'Challa and Okoye led their visitors toward the King's Hall through corridors lined with Wakandan art and technology seamlessly blended.
"Relax," Richard murmured to Mr. Fantastic. "Everything will be fine."
"I doubt that," Reed replied quietly. "Have you seen those spears the guards are carrying? Their expressions? They don't exactly welcome our presence."
"Their welcome is irrelevant," Richard said dismissively. "What matters is King T'Chaka's reception. And don't worry—even if negotiations collapse, I guarantee your safe return to New York. You won't end up skewered by a Vibranium spear."
Richard made no effort to lower his voice, ensuring T'Challa and Okoye clearly heard his words.
Okoye, already seething at Richard's unauthorized entry into Wakanda and destruction of their protective shield, stopped abruptly. With a controlled motion, she brought her Vibranium spear down sharply against the floor.
BANG!
The polished stone tiles cracked under the impact. Her action startled Mr. Fantastic and served as a silent command to the surrounding Royal Guards, who immediately raised their weapons and surrounded the two visitors.
Before T'Challa could intervene, Richard spoke with dangerous calm.
"Reed, it seems the captain of the Wakandan Royal Guard doesn't appreciate our company. Perhaps there's no need to meet with the King after all. What do you think?"
"Ms. Okoye probably struck the floor accidentally," Mr. Fantastic offered diplomatically. "The Vibranium spear looks rather unwieldy."
Despite Reed's attempt to defuse the situation, Okoye turned to face them, her expression unyielding. With practiced precision, she executed a series of complex movements with her spear, the silver-white Vibranium blade cutting through the air with lethal grace.
In one swift motion, she thrust the spear forward, stopping mere centimeters from Richard's face.
Richard had been content to ignore Okoye's hostility, but this direct challenge demanded response. The weapon pointed at his face crossed a line he wouldn't tolerate.
"Impressive spear technique," he remarked coldly. "Unfortunately, it's more suited for ceremonial display than actual combat. Let me offer some advice: if you lack the resolve to kill, never draw your weapon against an enemy. You'll only appear foolish."
With those words, Richard channeled the mana flowing through his body, raised his right hand and snapped his fingers.
Snap!
Instantly, more than a dozen translucent wind blades materialized in the air. Before anyone could react, they sliced through the necks of Okoye and the nearby Royal Guards with surgical precision, severing their heads in a single synchronized motion.
Mr. Fantastic and T'Challa stared in horror at the carnage before them.
"Your Highness," Richard said calmly, "we shouldn't waste time. Please continue leading the way."
Despite his impressive self-control, T'Challa's face contorted with fury as he processed what had just happened. Okoye wasn't merely the captain of the Royal Guard trusted by both father and son—she was also the beloved partner of W'Kabi, commander of Wakanda's defense forces.
"Mr. Wesley," T'Challa managed through clenched teeth, "don't you think you've gone too far?"
"If you think it excessive, then act accordingly," Richard replied indifferently. "But remember, you are the prince of Wakanda. You understand what that responsibility entails without my explaining it."
"Are you threatening me?" T'Challa demanded.
"Would you prefer I bring your head to meet your father?" Richard asked with chilling calm. "I can arrange that immediately if you wish."
Every fiber in T'Challa's being screamed to attack, to avenge Okoye and the fallen guards. But his royal training prevailed. Taking several deep breaths to master his rage, he turned and continued toward the King's Hall.
Richard stepped past Okoye's body without a glance, as though he had eliminated nothing more significant than insects.
Mr. Fantastic followed in stunned silence, already anticipating the disastrous meeting ahead between Richard and King T'Chaka. Worse, his conscience weighed heavily with responsibility for the bloodshed. Had he not sought Vibranium in Wakanda, Richard wouldn't have accompanied him. Had Richard not come, Okoye and the others would still be alive.
Though Richard might have eventually visited Wakanda alone, at least today's deaths might have been avoided. With a resigned sigh, Reed followed Richard and T'Challa from the courtyard.
Minutes later in the King's Hall, Richard stood before T'Chaka, ruler of Wakanda, who was flanked by tribal elders in distinctive ceremonial attire.
Though they had just arrived, T'Chaka had already received reports from surviving Royal Guards about the slaughter in the courtyard. Like his son, he burned with rage but maintained the measured composure expected of Wakanda's king.
"Mr. Wesley," T'Chaka addressed him directly, "you are clearly no ordinary man, so I will dispense with diplomatic courtesies to avoid wasting everyone's time. If you seek Vibranium and our technology, I can provide you with samples and related knowledge freely. If, however, your goal is to conquer Wakanda entirely, you may state so plainly. Though we may not match your power, Wakandans fear no death when defending our homeland!"
T'Chaka's words carried the dignity and authority befitting Wakanda's ruler. To Richard, however, they sounded like empty posturing.
If T'Chaka truly possessed the strength his words suggested, T'Challa and Okoye would have arrived with forces sufficient to capture the intruders, not merely escort them. Their diplomatic approach revealed the limits of Wakandan confidence when facing Richard's power.
"Not afraid of death?" Richard's lips curved into a cold smile. "Excellent. I prefer opponents who embrace their mortality! Since Your Majesty has spoken so boldly, let us commence hostilities immediately."
As he spoke, Richard summoned his mana, causing blue-white energy to envelop his body like ethereal flames. Though he had only activated his basic power—not yet employing any skills or revealing his mutant abilities—everyone in the hall except Mr. Fantastic felt an overwhelming sense of dread.
Richard's immediate escalation disrupted T'Chaka's diplomatic strategy, causing visible surprise on the king's face as he sat upon his Vibranium throne.
"Wait!" T'Chaka called out barely two seconds later.
"What is it?" Richard asked with mock surprise. "Don't tell me you've reconsidered your brave stance?"
If Richard were to rank the most despised groups in the Marvel universe, Wakandans would undoubtedly top his list. Despite their Earth origins, they embodied everything he found contemptible.
Their arrogance and self-righteousness knew no bounds. Despite possessing technology far beyond the outside world, they clung to primitive traditions like ritual combat to determine succession. They wielded the most advanced weapons yet settled leadership through archaic hand-to-hand combat.
They contributed nothing to global advancement, isolating themselves while looking down on other nations. Even if the Wakandans had been any other race, their behavior would have been equally repugnant to Richard.
"War... is always the last resort," T'Chaka replied, maintaining his regal bearing. "Before we commit to conflict, perhaps we can reach an agreement through other means."
"Agreement?" Richard scoffed. "I doubt we could reach any consensus you would find acceptable."
"Everything is negotiable," T'Chaka insisted. "How can you be certain until we've tried?"
Richard's expression hardened with contempt. "You just proclaimed that Wakandans do not fear death. Yet before I've even made my first move, your courage falters. Your performance is... disappointing."
Chapter 144: Mutant City
Under normal circumstances, T'Chaka would never have changed his stance so abruptly. But the man standing before him was Richard, whose reputation for ruthless dominance preceded him.
Though Wakanda's Vibranium technology far surpassed anything in the outside world, their comprehensive military strength couldn't match nations like the United States. America might lack Vibranium's extraordinary properties, but their tactical military capabilities operated several levels above Wakanda's.
In Richard's view, the Wakandans were essentially primitive people wielding interstellar-age technology as glorified melee weapons, capable only of conducting rudimentary warfare. Not just the United States—any nation with a developed military system could defeat them with the "backward" gunpowder weapons that Wakandans so arrogantly dismissed.
Despite Richard's open contempt, T'Chaka's reaction proved the old adage that when one's skin is dark enough, it's difficult for others to see when one's face darkens with shame.
"Mr. Wesley, if you have requests, please state them," T'Chaka said with measured dignity. "Whatever Wakanda can provide, we will not refuse."
As Wakanda's king, even while being openly ridiculed by Richard, T'Chaka maintained his composure as though nothing had happened. More than that, he needed to accommodate Richard's demands to the best of his ability.
If war erupted, today might well be the final day Wakanda existed as a sovereign nation. Not just the country itself, but the Wakandan people might become nothing more than a historical footnote by tomorrow.
"Since you offered," Richard smiled coldly. "My request is actually quite simple. I want all the Vibranium—whether it's still in the ground or already mined and fashioned into weapons and equipment. Every last gram of it."
He paused, letting the implications sink in. "Satisfy this condition, and I might overlook your earlier provocations as momentary impulses."
While Richard harbored little affection for Wakandans, compared to genocide, he preferred the option of stripping away all Vibranium and leaving them to experience genuine agrarian life. For Wakandans accustomed to Vibranium-based technology—who derived their sense of superiority from the metal and looked down on other nations—being deprived of Vibranium would prove more devastating than death.
It would be like a billionaire instantly losing all wealth and status, reduced to begging on streets. While causing no physical harm, the psychological devastation would prove far more unbearable.
"All the Vibranium?"
Shock registered on every face in the hall—from Mr. Fantastic to T'Chaka, T'Challa, and the tribal elders. Though Reed Richards knew Richard better than the Wakandans, even he hadn't anticipated such an audacious demand.
It was ludicrous. Vibranium represented not merely a precious resource to Wakandans, but the foundational cornerstone of their culture and national identity. Surrendering all Vibranium meant losing not only their technological advantage but their cultural heritage and national cohesion.
Before the Vibranium meteorite struck Wakandan soil, they had been indistinguishable from other African tribes. The metal's discovery transformed them into the continent's hidden technological superpower. Now Richard proposed to strip away their source of pride, reducing them to the same agrarian lifestyle as their African neighbors.
Before T'Chaka could formulate a response, the tribal elder with the ceremonial lip plate spoke out forcefully: "We cannot surrender our Vibranium! Don't—"
Heat Ray!
Before the elder could finish, Richard unleashed a crimson beam from his eyes—a power granted by his Superboy-Prime template—vaporizing the man's head instantly.
"I'm not negotiating," Richard stated flatly. "This is my sole condition for your survival. While I don't particularly desire to be labeled a perpetrator of genocide, I wouldn't find such a reputation unbearable."
Had Richard never come to Wakanda, he wouldn't have cared about their isolationist attitude or their belief that Wakanda represented the pinnacle of human advancement. But having arrived, he felt compelled to shatter their delusions and force them to confront reality.
After witnessing Richard casually execute the elder, T'Challa's fists clenched as unrestrained fury washed over his features. Before he could act, T'Chaka's voice rang out.
"Is there truly no room for negotiation?" the king asked quietly.
"What do you think?" Richard countered.
At Richard's cold response, T'Chaka—already well into his years—seemed to age another decade before their eyes. He sank back into his Vibranium throne, desolation evident in every line of his face.
After a prolonged silence, T'Chaka finally spoke. "I accept your terms. How do you intend to remove all our Vibranium?"
"Remove?" Richard smiled. "No, I don't plan to remove anything. You and your people will leave this place and experience the agricultural life you've created for others. This land now belongs to me."
Though Richard possessed his system space, its volume couldn't yet accommodate Wakanda's entire Vibranium reserves.
"You would deny us even residence in our capital?" T'Chaka stared, momentarily speechless.
Despite his profound reluctance, T'Chaka had no choice but to acquiesce with a nod.
Seeing the king's submission, Richard's expression turned satisfied. Coming to Wakanda had proven unexpectedly rewarding.
One week later, as the last Wakandan reluctantly departed the capital, Richard instructed Emma Frost to activate the city's shield—recently repaired by Mr. Fantastic.
For the Wakandans, this week had been the darkest chapter in their collective memory. Yet few outside their borders knew of these events; Richard's forceful occupation of Wakanda's capital and Vibranium reserves had caused remarkably little international reaction.
During the takeover process, Richard had eliminated those who resisted. Even with T'Chaka's directives, many Wakandans refused to relinquish their personal Vibranium possessions. To demonstrate the seriousness of his demands, Richard showed no mercy, using telepathy and matter manipulation to decompose these individuals completely.
Though the death toll remained relatively modest—fewer than a thousand—witnessing his ruthlessness convinced the remaining Wakandans to surrender quickly. They had no alternative; they lacked the strength to resist. If they had possessed such power, T'Chaka would never have capitulated so readily.
With the Wakandans evicted, Richard began transforming their capital. While Wakanda's architecture displayed remarkable distinctiveness, he found their aesthetic distasteful. He decided to personally reshape the capital into a new city aligned with his own vision.
For the name, he settled on "Silver City"—simple, perhaps unimaginative, but Richard saw no reason to waste creative energy on something so trivial.
In less than three days, Richard completed Silver City's reconstruction. His extraordinary speed stemmed from two specific mutant powers: matter manipulation and transmutation. With these abilities, he could reshape terrain and materials at will, like playing a city-building simulation, creating his ideal urban environment in record time.
If there was any issue, it was Silver City's minuscule population—barely a few dozen people. After completing construction, Richard and Emma relocated to the newly built palace in Silver City, bringing along the servants, chefs, and staff from his manor.
In the palace study, Richard stood before the floor-to-ceiling windows, admiring the distant landscape. Retrieving a mobile phone from his system space, he located Magneto's number.
Silver City's infrastructure stood completed, but it remained empty—a ghost metropolis awaiting inhabitants. To address this problem, he decided to contact Magneto.
After dialing, the connection established quickly.
"Why this unexpected call?" Magneto's voice came through clearly.
"I have a proposition to discuss," Richard replied calmly.
"What kind?"
"I've acquired a city—newly constructed, approximately one-third the size of New York. However, I'm lacking residents. I'm wondering if you'd be interested in relocating here, perhaps bringing your Brotherhood of Mutants associates."
A prolonged silence followed before Magneto finally responded. "How exactly did you acquire a newly built city? What have you done?"
"Nothing extraordinary—merely displaced a population, occupied their capital, and renovated it somewhat," Richard answered casually. "If you want details, we should meet. Tell me your location, and I'll open a portal."
Though questions filled Magneto's mind, he recognized the prudence of discussing such matters in person and provided his coordinates.
After ending the call, Richard withdrew the Cosmic Cube from his system space. Moments later, a dimensional gateway resembling condensed thunderclouds materialized in the study. Within seconds, Magneto and Mystique stepped through the portal.
"Have a seat," Richard gestured. "Would you like a drink?"
"Whiskey," Magneto replied promptly.
"Of course."
Richard produced an expensive bottle and three glasses from his system space. After serving both guests, he poured one for himself.
"This was originally the capital of Wakanda, a small African nation," he explained. "Ten days ago, I reached an agreement with their king, converting this territory to my personal domain. Finding their architectural style distasteful, I spent some time remodeling."
Richard channeled his mana to create a three-dimensional holographic projection displaying Silver City from above.
"I've named it Silver City. We're currently in the palace at the city's core."
Richard sipped his whiskey, speaking unhurriedly.
Though Magneto knew little about Wakanda, his brow furrowed as he studied the magical projection.
"Aren't you concerned about international backlash from forcibly occupying another nation's capital?" Magneto asked.
"Why would I fear that?" Richard shrugged. "If anyone objects, they're welcome to try their luck. I guarantee they'll be the ones with regrets."
He waved dismissively. "Let's not dwell on this. You've likely guessed my purpose. Is transforming this place into a mutant sanctuary feasible?"
"Feasibility depends on whether appropriate infrastructure exists," Magneto replied pragmatically. "If it's merely empty buildings without supporting facilities, even with both of us calling mutants here, few might come."
"Silver City has complete infrastructure," Richard assured him. "For initial supplies, we can import necessities. Once we establish our own production facilities, we'll achieve self-sufficiency. At capacity, this city could accommodate millions of mutants."
Though Richard harbored no ambition to lead the mutant community, he didn't mind assisting his "compatriots." More importantly, he genuinely needed these mutants to transform Silver City from an architectural showcase into a living community. Without inhabitants, regardless of its splendor, Silver City would remain a ghost town.
"You previously expressed disinterest in such endeavors," Magneto observed. "What prompted this sudden change?"
"People evolve," Richard said indifferently. "Consider it a momentary inspiration."
Though clearly not the answer Magneto sought, he didn't press further. "Tell me how you envision my cooperation."
"It's straightforward. Simply announce this opportunity under your name and invite others to come."
"Why not do it yourself?" Magneto challenged. "Your influence among mutants exceeds mine. Your call would generate greater response."
Richard's expression turned serious. "Because I don't want anyone mistaking me for a good person."
Chapter 145: Spider Sense and Enhanced Durability
"Don't want to be misunderstood as a good person?"
Magneto and Mystique exchanged bewildered glances at Richard's statement. Despite their considerably greater years, they struggled to comprehend his peculiar perspective.
Before they could inquire further, Richard elaborated. "My reputation outside has never been particularly favorable. I'm known as a domineering, unreasonable mutant."
He leaned back in his chair, swirling the amber liquid in his glass. "While hardly flattering, I've grown rather fond of this reputation and wish to maintain it. More importantly, such notoriety allows me to live more freely, without the burden of others' expectations."
Richard's stance might seem perplexing on the surface, but from his perspective, it was perfectly rational.
As the saying goes: when a lifetime villain finally performs one good deed, society calls him a reformed prodigal son. But when a lifetime saint commits a single transgression, people claim his true colors have finally emerged.
Similar axioms existed throughout human philosophy. A righteous person must overcome eighty-one tribulations to achieve enlightenment, while a murderer need only lay down his knife to find the same.
Richard had never aspired to transcendent virtue, nor did he desire recognition as conventionally "good" by societal standards. This explained why, despite possessing greater power than Magneto, he steadfastly refused to assume leadership of the mutant community.
He rejected being constrained by any reputation for benevolence, unwilling to sacrifice his personal interests or autonomy for the sake of maintaining a virtuous image. He particularly dreaded moral coercion—the expectation that "good people" must always act selflessly, regardless of personal cost.
Hearing Richard's explanation, the septuagenarian Magneto and octogenarian Mystique processed his reasoning with the perspective that comes from decades of experience.
"If you wish to avoid being mistaken for a philanthropist," Magneto smiled slightly, "then I'll gladly shoulder that burden of good reputation for you."
"If you're willing to accept such acclaim, all the better," Richard nodded appreciatively. "To thank you for your assistance, I'm allocating three manors in the inner city for you to distribute as you see fit."
"Inner city?" Magneto's eyebrow arched. "You're segmenting Silver City into inner and outer districts?"
"Wasn't the projection clear enough?" Richard gestured toward the holographic display. "While I'm opening Silver City to mutantkind, only the outer city will be generally accessible. A portion of the inner city will be available exclusively to those I deem worthy of residence there—such as yourself and Wanda."
When reconstructing Silver City, Richard had divided it into three distinct zones. At its heart stood the royal palace, surrounded by the exclusive inner city district. Beyond that stretched the outer city, designated for the general population.
Though such stratification might invite accusations of deliberate class division, Richard remained unmoved. His willingness to open the outer city to mutants, offering them a discrimination-free existence superior to most external cities, already demonstrated considerable generosity in his view.
If residents of the outer city found this arrangement unfair or insufficient, Richard wouldn't hesitate to personally eliminate such ingratitude.
After a thoughtful pause, Magneto responded. "This is your domain. You alone determine its structure."
Though he privately believed Richard's approach would inevitably create unnecessary complications, Magneto made no attempt to dissuade him. If Richard could be so easily swayed, he wouldn't be Richard.
"Precisely!" Richard smiled, satisfied.
With Magneto agreeing to recruit mutants to Silver City in his personal capacity, they briefly discussed administrative matters. The palace and inner city required minimal oversight, given their limited, exclusive population. The outer city, however, presented greater challenges.
Even with just the outer district developed, Silver City could accommodate millions of mutants. Such population density would inevitably generate complex governance issues.
Having no interest in personally overseeing outer city administration, Richard entrusted this responsibility to Magneto, whose leadership experience made him ideal for the role. Despite lacking specific urban management credentials, Magneto's experience leading the Brotherhood of Mutants demonstrated his administrative capabilities.
Moreover, Magneto had Mystique as his right hand. While not exceptionally powerful in combat, Mystique possessed comprehensive talents extending far beyond espionage and intelligence gathering. In essence, as an administrative assistant or secretary, she would prove invaluable.
Much of Magneto's success in managing the Brotherhood stemmed from Mystique's organizational efficiency.
After finalizing outer city management arrangements, Richard used the Cosmic Cube to create a spatial gateway for Magneto and Mystique to return to the Brotherhood's headquarters.
As they prepared to depart, Richard suddenly remembered an important detail. "I'll be occupied with a project in the coming days, so I may be unreachable for routine matters. If you need anything urgent, contact Emma."
Though curious about Richard's plans, Magneto respected his privacy. "Understood," he replied simply before escorting Mystique through the portal back to their headquarters.
After their departure, Richard immediately opened another spatial doorway and teleported from the study. The recruitment of mutants to Silver City's outer district was now in motion, allowing him to focus on personal matters.
Specifically, transforming Black Widow Scarlett and Agent 13 Emily into superhumans.
Though he lacked previous experience converting ordinary humans into metahumans, Richard remained confident in the process. With Compound V and Temporary V brought from the Boys universe, transforming Scarlett and Emily should prove straightforward.
After teleporting from the study, Richard went directly to meet with Scarlett and Emily to discuss his proposal. Upon hearing his plan to transform them into superhumans, their initial reaction wasn't reluctance but curiosity—wondering if he had awakened yet another mutant power.
During their time in the zombie universe, they'd witnessed only a fraction of Richard's abilities. Since returning to the Marvel Universe with him, they'd discovered his mutant powers vastly exceeded their initial estimations. Though still unaware of his full capabilities, their perception of Richard had gradually evolved into that of an omnipotent being.
Noting their confusion, Richard briefly explained Compound V and Temporary V. However, he didn't reveal their origin in the Boys universe, instead claiming he'd created them through accidental experimentation.
Though Scarlett and Emily seemed skeptical of this explanation, they didn't press further, agreeing to undergo his superhuman enhancement procedure.
With their consent secured, Richard immediately teleported them to the palace's private laboratory. His approach to their metahuman transformation followed a straightforward protocol:
First, inject both with Temporary V to observe what powers might manifest.
If they developed worthwhile abilities under Temporary V's influence, he would administer standard Compound V, then use magic to help their bodies fully assimilate the compound, ensuring they could withstand its full potency and permanently retain the awakened powers.
If their Temporary V-induced abilities proved unsatisfactory, he would implement a transformation similar to Starlight's—using magic to guide Compound V's mutation in specific directions, performing targeted physiological alterations that would grant them permanent, effective powers without affecting their appearance or normal functioning.
With Starlight's successful transformation as precedent, Richard felt confident about Scarlett and Emily's enhancement procedures. Moreover, successful completion would enable him to potentially mass-produce superhumans according to specific requirements. Whether these enhanced individuals would serve as personal guards or sources for new abilities remained a consideration for later.
After bringing Scarlett and Emily to the laboratory, Richard instructed them to remove their clothing and lie on the examination tables for comprehensive physical assessment to determine their baseline conditions.
Without hesitation, both women disrobed and positioned themselves on the vibranium operating tables. Most laboratory equipment had been transferred from Wakanda's Royal Research Institute. Though Richard disliked Wakandans and their culture, he had to acknowledge that their vibranium-constructed scientific instruments vastly outperformed anything available in the outside world.
As Scarlett and Emily settled on the tables, Richard silently began his meticulous examination.
Time passed swiftly.
Half a month elapsed in what seemed like moments. During this period, neither Richard, Scarlett, nor Emily left the laboratory. After fifteen days and more than twenty doses of Compound V, Richard finally succeeded in transforming the formerly ordinary women into superhumans.
The extended timeframe resulted primarily from Richard's dissatisfaction with their initial Temporary V reactions. After her first injection, Scarlett gained impressive powers including super strength, enhanced durability, and super speed.
While these abilities seemed ideal in theory, they came with an unacceptable side effect—Scarlett transformed into a nearly ten-foot-tall female giant with arms thicker than Richard's waist. Though the native Natasha of this universe existed, Richard had no intention of turning the Scarlett who had been by his side into a colossal figure.
Consequently, he implemented his secondary approach, using magic to guide Compound V's mutation.
Emily fared somewhat better, avoiding physical distortion but awakening only the power of transparency after her Temporary V injection. Yet even this ability proved inferior to the Invisible Man of the Watchmen—when he turned transparent, the Invisible Man also gained an invulnerable body. Emily's transparency provided no physical enhancement whatsoever.
Moreover, like the Invisible Man, her transparency affected only her body, not her clothing. To prevent Emily from having to choose between visibility and nudity, Richard decisively implemented the second transformation protocol for her as well.
After more than two weeks of continuous experimentation and refinement, Richard successfully completed both superhuman transformations. Post-enhancement, Scarlett gained spider-based powers similar to Spider-Man—strength, speed, and reflexes far beyond human limitations, along with a spider-sense mirroring Peter Parker's preternatural danger awareness.
Emily, meanwhile, acquired enhanced durability and telekinetic abilities similar to Homelander. Judging purely by power metrics, Emily's abilities significantly outclassed Scarlett's. Even without her telekinesis, Homelander-level durability rendered her impervious to most conventional weapons.
Her strength, endurance, speed, and sensory capabilities had been dramatically enhanced. Though she hadn't gained Homelander's Super Senses, super-hearing, heat vision, or natural flight ability, her telekinesis enabled both object manipulation and self-propelled flight.
Despite Emily's objectively superior power set, Scarlett's abilities better complemented her original combat style and characteristics. Emily would need to adapt to her new capabilities and develop a fighting style suited to her enhanced state—a challenging but manageable adjustment for the former elite S.H.I.E.L.D. agent.
After successfully transforming both women into superhumans, Richard teleported them back to their respective palace quarters. He then returned alone to his study to compile and organize the experimental data and transformation insights gained over the previous fortnight.
The documentation process took over thirty minutes. As he finished, a thought suddenly crystallized in his mind:
I should ask Tony for an AI assistant.
While organizing the information hadn't been particularly time-consuming, he couldn't help envying Stark's JARVIS. Having a similar artificial intelligence assistant would eliminate such administrative tasks and could additionally manage Silver City's palace operations and other routine matters.
With this realization, Richard immediately retrieved his mobile phone from his system space. Upon connecting to the network, the screen displayed numerous missed calls and messages.
Tony Stark, Reed Richards, Johnny Storm, Susan Storm, Magneto, Wanda, Natasha Romanoff, Bruce Banner...
Richard's brow furrowed as he noted the missed communications from Natasha and Banner among the notifications.
