Your reaction to Suga's verse in the cypher almost made me cackle in this office lol

Also this album wasn't really a commercial success when it came out but now is considered a classic by most army. This is top 3 bts album for me

"whether guy or girl, my tongue will make you come." LMAOO it's supposed to be word play like my "tongue" meaning "my rap/flow" will make you "come" meaning "come listen to our music/check out bts" but also it means exactly what you thought and what we all thought😭😭😭 yoongi is actually insane for that, especially 11 years ago.

I think compared to other groups BTS has always had creative freedom. BTS has always been heavily involved with the production and writing especially the rap line, they are known for their lyricsm, never shying away from talking about world issues, mental health and even bashing the government. They are fundementally a rap group that's where their roots are, also they have never really stuck to one genre, always switching it up in every album, they have songs in nearly all genres.

rjkpop

Oh no I fully understood that lol, but it reads in a very interesting way of course, almost a double meaning . It’s very clever!

Yes there are 4 cyphers!! There are also BTS songs that are not in albums along with their japanese songs/albums you have not heard

samsam

you are such a mood 😂 Dark & Wild is also my favorite BTS album so its very exciting to see you love it just as much!! just honestly top tier work here

samsam

also i was waiting for Suga's cypher lines to come up and watch your face 🤣 you did not disappoint

The rap line specifically has writing credits on all songs except the interlude and outro, and they worked a lot with big hit producers like Pdogg and Slow Rabbit. There are some behind the scenes of the making of this album on the ”beyond the stars” documentary that came out on Disney plus pretty recently (like 2023/2024 I believe). Besides cypher pt 3 I think Rain is my favorite on this album 😊 As for the different song titles, some songs that have different official titles in korean and english that don’t exactly correspond to each other become commonly known for the translation of the korean title, while the official english title are on streaming platforms (this is the case for blanket kick and 2nd grade). Other songs become more commonly known for their korean title, like baepsae which is silver spoon on Spotify.

A lot of the writing and production for this album was done in the States when they were filming American Hustle Life. It was basically a show where they learned about the culture of hip hop by people in the culture. It had its extremely cringy moments because they were clueless to a lot of things. But they learned so much and it really impacted them in ways you can still see today. But yeah a lot of this album was recorded in a garage but they also used a recording studio in Los Angeles for some of it that they still utilize today. Also Let Me Know is one of SUGA’s babies, he’s the main producer for that song and it’s one of my favorites. Definitely a top three album for me.

look here is my favorite bts song its sooo fun i love it!!!

They have always written and produced their own albums- all of them! Especially the rapline with Pdogg & Slow rabbit are the main contributors to writing & production! This specific album was worked on in the US where they were leaning about hip hop culture from the people in it!

The lyrics don't say "come", it actually says "my tongue will send you to Hong Kong", which is a Korean phrase for orgasm. So it's more of a 'my rap is so good it will excite you' over 'make you come back for more'
