I want your opinion about what should be Noah's next directorial film with Al Pacino in STS. I had originally planned one of these options, but then one of you pointed out that that could mean him growing too much too quickly, so I leave the decision to you guys.

I'm also open to suggestions. The film should have two major characters, one older, one younger.

Imp: In the last poll, I forgot to include one very important movie: Whiplash. So I'm reposting this poll here. I was a little uncertain about adding it because many of you want Troy to do that film, but in the end, I decided to add it anyway.

Whiplash IMO. It will show his maturity as a writer in many ways, it has a lot of impact for Al Pacino if he gets the teachers role and MC would show some acting chops but not too much. Change the romantic plot though it wasn't very good compared to everything else. By the way if this is an alternative timeline maybe he could come up with the finished version of truman show at some point? OtL it had a really long screenwriting process starting with a really edgy version where Truman doesn't stop a rape and other things that were polished and removed. Basically an average college student trying too hard. If he can pull off the 'trained from birth showman' and comedic delivery that'll prove even more of his acting chops. It goes well with the 80s Raegan era too.

I picked Dead Poets Society. I think it’s definitely the best fit for this fic. Manchester by the Sea and Good Will Hunting should be part of the Caleb Grayson story because of his connection to Matt Damon. For Whiplash, I think that could fit well in this story if you wait 30 years and let Noah play the teacher.

Scent of a Woman makes sense after Pacino did you that solid for your film. Also make him a friend for life if you help him get a oscar. For the next movie maybe after that I'd say something less serious. maybe HIGHLANDER, BLOODSPORT, (REVENGE OF THE NERDS) you play main jock character. Scent of a woman or Whiplash would be perfect in my opinion, I also feel like Rain Man could be great for the two of them, tho it could come later. I think the the most suitable is Whiplash tho, followed by scent of a woman

Good will hunting, it’s the wrong time period for whiplash. 1980’s America wasn’t obsessed with the golden age of jazz. That didn’t come till early 2000’s. Which is what whiplash is mainly about.

The brutal film Come and See would be interesting to see. How would you write it? Could he do this movie in 1985 or maybe in 1981? I know it's very unlikely, but I would love to see how you could possibly write it. I also know that the country/language would be completely different, but I don't know. It would be good to see something different.
