About a year ago I picked up the DanDaDan manga while I was waiting for One Piece to come off hiatus and I got myself caught up in a couple weeks. It’s such a heartwarming and hilarious story and the animation team is absolutely killing it. Can’t wait to hear your reactions from the rest of the season! The series is a 12/10 for me.

I saw fiddler crab brawl on the NC coast once. All the crabs were hanging out and this big one ran up and started kicking the shit out of them. The little crabs eventually escaped because the big one would stop every couple seconds to shovel mud into it's mouth.

I can't believe none of you mentioned one of the best parts of the episode, and my personal favorite part, when Turbo Granny is berating Momo about using English instead of speaking proper Japanese and the next phrase out of Turbo Granny's mouth is "SON OF A BITCH" in perfect English. I fucking died laughing. 😂

Hey Matt, since you mentioned liking Power Rangers, you should check out the new show called "The Red Ranger Becomes an Adventurer in Another World". The art on this show is beastly. Episode 4 is so fucking RED, I love it. Then we get the moment they cross back into Seiko's territory and the world is blue and green again, stunning.

A few thoughts: Momo eating the crab leg is hilarious. Seiko only gets cooler with each subsequent appearance, and you can see how she is why Momo is how she is. Every series should have a post-arc celebratory dinner. There’s a theory that Turbo Granny warped to Momo in ep. 1 because she sensed she was in danger and couldn’t help but try to save her. Good show.

I just finished the last bin episode and I'm astonished that there wasn't a single character I didn't like. Special shout out to Momos two schoolfriends who could have easily sucked, but I laugh at every scene they pop up.

if Heather’s looking for something slightly more manageable to dive into than One Piece, she should check out JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure! it’s broken into distinct parts that you can take breaks between if you want, but it’s still a sizable undertaking. i’ve also been getting into Ultraman lately and, if you’re looking to see more stuff that inspired Eva after finishing Victory, that is a great direction to go! and there is a LOT of it to choose from

Since everony loves the opening, I got to ask how you prefer your opening themes to be shown. Do you prefer that there is a translation of the lyrics, the romanized version of the lyrics, or nothing at all? My favorite version was when a show (08th ms team) switched back and forth between the translation and romanized. I do miss the high seas days where you could even get a karaoke romanized lyrics on screen with a translation showing too.

One of the most interesting parts about this show to me is how there is a belief held by a character that will immediately be proven or disproven. In the first episode aliens AND ghosts are shown to be real. In episode 3, Seiko is initially presented to be a quack on the show (as Momo believes just 2 episodes prior) and immediately she shows her skills as a spirit medium. (Not to mention that all of her readings about the idol are revealed to be true)

The way this anime uses color and music to accentuate scenes is on a level as good as Persona 5. From the OP that I never skip to the frenetic fight and chase scenes, it's just a well-made show in all aspects and I'm excited to see what you think of where it goes in the next few weeks! And I second Rice & Nori! I go there on occasion, and their selection of Onigiri is top-notch. Them and GRAM Cafe for Japanese pancakes have me set for life.

i grew up in maryland, home of the Maryland Blue Crab or as nick referred to them "the little ones". i get not wanting to work for your food, but in maryland, eating blue crab is a local cultural summer event in a way. you would get a bushel (roughly 6 dozen) or two, get the family together, and sit around the table, picking them apart, eating them, and talking the afternoon away. i recently brought my partner home for the first time and we did a big crab feast. she is from california. she also didn't get it or enjoy it! but you have to understand, growing up in maryland, picking apart blue crabs and eating them is a nostalgic past time and still my favorite way to enjoy crab. blue crab is best shellfish. blue crab is GOAT. blue crab for president (country would be better).

There's another called the Gelada Baboon. They spend most of their day sitting on their asses pulling grass out of the ground. Because their hands are occupied with this task, they can't groom each other like other primates so they maintain social bonds by humming and grunting at each other. And because they are on their butts all day, they have bright red chests and glorious hair to display their sexual fitness instead of a large colorful rump.
