Is the link not working for anyone else?

I enjoyed the show but don’t think it will stick in my brain in the future. Loved listening to you talking about it though! Also really into the “one modern anime episode, one classic anime episode” format idea.

While listening to the episode I realized that the lie/truth contrary philosophies of Lycoris/Chisato and Majima comes to a point with Chisatos heart in the end. Her philosophy wins out and the truth gets the Lycoris treatment and we get a happy ending.

I like the two shows idea! Gurren lagann and chainsaw man! Or maybe a movie between every show. Nick really made me want to check out Howl's again

Maybe the Mobile Suit Gundam trilogy would be a concise way to cover that formative franchise? I also really like the old anime/new anime idea.

The firefox web browser allows me to take screenshots and screenshare on discord. I make tons of gifs from Disney + with it.

As an old anime fan who also watched Evangelion on VHS just wanted to say I thought LR was really delightful. Heather isn't wrong to not enjoy it so much of course! But it's just so fun to me

I recommend Mob Psycho for a watch along. Also FMAB but that's a bit long

Zeon Liberation

Watch Paranoia Agent. Also, season two of One Punch Man is trash.

A show I recommend anyone watch that makes the mistake of talking to me about anime is Link Click. The original Chinese version is out in full and the dub is up to episode 10 as of this writing. I watched the original release and am using the dub as an excuse to rewatch this fantastic show. To give the elevator pitch to hopefully entice some of you to check it out: The two main characters work at a photography shop and have a special power. One can look at any photo and see the events that happen 12 hours after it was taken. The other guy can dive into the photo and become the person that took the photo for those same 12 hours. While in the past, they have a mental link so the first guy can talk to the second one to tell him what to do so he doesn't alter the past too much. They use these abilities to investigate past events to fulfill requests from people in the present.

I'm with Heather on this one - though I did enjoy Lycoris more than I expected to. I was honestly surprised when y'all announced you were doing a currently airing show and didn't end that sentence with "Made in Abyss" - as that, of all the shows from last season, feels like it's going to have the longest tail. That said, I dig Heather's idea of alternating between contemporary and classic moving forward, and think either of her suggestions (Haruhi/Death Note) would be good picks for the classic show. I would also love to hear you all cover the 1997 Berserk at some point (that soundtrack slaps). Anyway, love the show; it always brightens up my otherwise humdrum Wednesdays.

Crunchy roll runs really well on ps5. Anyone feel the same?

“Hard ticket to Hawaii” inspiration for next season

Seconding the recommendation of Paranoia Agent for the pod. Excellent Satoshi Kon show, it’s his version of Twin Peaks in a way only he could do, and it’s only 13 episodes!

Was the next anime/format announced somewhere? I haven't seen it, but maybe I'm blind lol

Even though Season 2 is probably a ways off, would definitely recommend Dorohedoro. Such a fun and bizarre show that id bet would be up all three of their alleys

This is a show I never would have watched if you hadn't covered it on the podcast, but after watching a few episodes I'm hooked and I look forward to catching up on the your discussions about it.

God I loved this show. Ngl, Majima really rekindled my Yandere boy flame. I love their (takina and chisatos) romance and the message of the show. it's one we really need and wrapped up a lot of my personal beliefs. loved this show.

My friend is in the hospital for alcohol poisoning after I told him to listen to these episodes and take a shot every time Nick & Matt brought up the Joker. (Kidding). I get it but at the same time if he didn’t have green hair I wonder if it would’ve ever come up…sure he does Joker-esque things but most of them are just general villain tropes that apply far beyond just the joker.
