Hello!

Let us know what you think about episodes 13 & 14 of Blue Lock!

I, for one, can't wait for the detailed analysis and exploration of Egoism as defined by the philosopher Max Stirner, contrasting his more anarchic ideals with the more base egoism of Rand and other pure individualists. Right? Just me?

The extent of my soccer knowledge and experience begins and ends with playing peewee soccer as a kid. The goalie on my team was the coach's son, and every time the other team scored on him, he'd fall down and hold his leg like he was injured and would cry until his dad carried him off the field. Then he'd be right back in there and get scored on again, and the whole process would repeat.

Clearly only one word for these episodes…… Glaaaaaaam

Mobile Suit Bagera

Loved the action in episode 13 and the show calling their improvement from the training leveling up. Isagi breaking down without Bachira and Nagi telling him to believe in himself was classic. I love Nagi's character growth so far. Him telling Isagi "losing feels bad how do I make it stop?" and the response was that perfect mix of corny/hype that good Shonen pulls off well. Naruhaya was fucking cold blooded getting in Isagi's head before the match. I'm excited to see the rest of the match next week. (This is not a dig at the pacing, Wiger)

Holy crap! the intro to episide 14 is the coolest shit I've seen in my life. A completely new song that matches the intensity of these matches. It was so badass

Hey everybody; I'm still enjoying Blue Lock and how Bachira is basically just Isagi's sports boyfriend he wants to get back from Rin. It kinda feels like the tempo of "weird kinds of soccer opponents" slowed down. I hope it picks back up woth some real weirdos (GLAM!!)

Anthony Keyes

The more I watch along with you all, the more I hope that the end of the entire series deals with the consequences of becoming the best striker in this manner. I would imagine that whoever becomes #1 would lose all enjoyment after all of the fun challenges they faced in blue lock. They would likely lose all enjoyment in playing traditional professional soccer, drop out of the leagues, and perhaps even replace Ego to run another blue lock system. Then they could live vicariously through a younger group of people, knowing that another talented soul too would be driven to a lonely and ephemeral life in football.

Sexy Grandma's Retirement Home

As someone who couldn't care less about real life sports, I rarely find myself checking out a sports anime. The few that have, caught my attention for things other than the sport being played, namely the 'character designs' - Nick knows what I'm talking about 😉. That's all to say that I wouldn't have even given this show a second look if not for this podcast. Thanks for tricking me into watching this banger of a show! I've enjoyed it so much I've caught up to the latest dub release!

I love all the rock hard abs in this show

I can't imagine being bold enough to not pick Barou for your team. I'd be scared he'd just kick a soccer ball through my chest and take my spot on the roster. The rage on the field must have been palpable.

Ted Kord

Ted Kord from the Discord here -- I frigging love Blue Lock so much, thank you for introducing me to an anime that I almost certainly never would've watched on my own. I've watched the full first season and am caught up on the manga as well. Episodes 13/14 were where the show really kicked into high gear for me -- I had already been enjoying it, but the stakes of having Bachira (my favorite character at the time) stolen really made Isagi's personal growth journey have meaning that hadn't really been present yet. Also, the additional focus on Nagi (maybe my new favorite character?) was an element that I hadn't realized the show needed. Did you guys see the announcement of the Nagi spin-off movie, Blue Lock: Episode Nagi? It's based on the spin-off manga of the same name, which is similarly excellent. I have no idea when it will come out, but I'd love to see you guys cover it when it does! Thanks again, and here's a vote for some day covering Revolutionary Girl Utena on the pod :D

Dabinsk

Apparently Japan has a die hard fan base for king of the hill and they also argue about dubs vs subs.

Nagi leaving his friend to team up with Isagi is like if Nick and Matt got hired onto a live action Evangelion movie and then stopped being friends with Heather.
