ohhhh season 2 is really something. and by something I mean it's completely fucking insane and I still can't believe they actually did all of that.

I definitely know the exact page of Chainsaw Man that Matt was talking about 😂 Also, the Shonen Jump app has some amazing one-shots by Fujimoto, called Look Back and Goodbye, Eri. Extremely worth reading if you’re into Chainsaw Man. Also, Heather might be happy to know what else I’ve been weebin’: a little show called Revolutionary Girl Utena.

There’s an article on CrunchyRoll that lays out the broadcast order, then the author explains why it’s bad. Here’s their reasoning: “ One, it’s not chronological. Two, why is “Mystérique Sign” in-between parts one and two of “Remote Island Syndrome?” And three, it cuts up the story of the Melancholy arc too much to be watchable as a complete narrative arc.” I think this guy just didn’t have a friendly neighborhood HAC to guide him through the magic of broadcast order.

Double what Nick said, thank you Heather for recommending this show and this watch order! This is definitely up there as one of my favorites. I've re-watched episode 25 (episode 00) and it makes a little more sense. I hope season 2 explains why the cat can talk.

Torpedo of Truth is the name of the next Indiana Jones movie.

I’m so excited that we got to see Matt realize someone made something awesome that’s a younger than him in real time for what felt like the first time. I’m only slightly older, but I’ve been experiencing that a lot lately and I have the same reaction every time. 😂 The mangakas for JJK and MHA are both pretty young too, if I recall correctly

If Haruhi finds a new and wider audience from being on a larger streaming service, she'll definitely become an incel and MRA icon. That said, I just bought The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya, on bluray, and I can't wait to watch it and take away all the wrong messages. And I just saw Your Name. It's one of the most beautiful looking movies I've seen.

I started watching Mobile Suit Gundam Origins after Nick was talking about it. My first entry into Gundam and now I've finished Origins and have moved on to OG Gundam. This show rules and I am ready to devour everything Gundam!

Sewing Savage

If y'all are interested in spending some "extra time" with Haruhi, i reccomend the melencholy of haruhi-chan, a series of shorts that was released between seasons

Robot House

I was gonna recommend Bocchi but theres a 50/50 chance Heather will love it or it will cause her actual psychic damage

I accidentally watched these episodes out of order!! Didn't think twice about it until I realized, but it didn't diminish what an amazing ending this was for the series!! I hope you guys end up doing something Gundam related in the future. If not the OG series, the three theatrical releases of 0079 would be a decent starting point. That's how I got into it, and getting a broad overview of the themes and just how far into the Realpolitik and violence a shoe from the 70s gets into really encouraged me to watch the series proper. Also it's interesting to see the origination point/early versions of tropes that would later be dismantled and subverted in Evangelion. Also Hideaki Anno version of Gundam when???

Zeon Liberation

If anyone is going to watch the Jujutsu Kaisen movie it is “S3” on crunchy roll for the dub and “S34” for the sub. Insane. That app is atrocious.

So the Chain Reactions for Jujutsu Kaisen: Zero will be called "Chain Reactions: Jujutsu-talk," right?

Going into this week I was fully on team "who gives a shit about broadcast order" but then two things happened. First, I watched episode six which is so clearly a finale, it would be ridiculous to throw that episode into the middle of a season. Second, I continued watching and started S2 which has a completely different intro/outro! They're obviously meant to be separate, it would be so jarring watching in timeline order and having the intro changing every few episodes.

Andy Hunter

These episodes worked great as a season finale in terms of emotional payoff. One thing that doesn't quite fit for me is that, in all the episodes we've seen that take place after this, Kyon doesn't act like he and Haruhi have kissed. It's hard to imagine a high schooler kissing someone and it NOT changing the way he acts around her. He seems to have admitted to himself that he's got a thing for Haruhi, yet in subsequent episodes he's back to pining after Miss Asahina, back to complaining about Haruhi. That said, I'm interested in seeing how he behaves now that we're "caught up" to the first season finale. Great work by you all, too, as usual!

Crunchyroll keeps giving me an error in the last five fucking seconds of the finale. I haven’t listened to the podcast yet, so I’m going to assume the next show is something cool like Macross Plus. We need some god damn Mechs that ain’t weird broken Angels. Eva is the desert plate of mecha shows , the final course. Let’s have some Gundam 08th MS Team. What I really want is G Gundam tho Macross Plus is perfect tho too because it’s got transforming mecha, incredible music and the Sharon Apple idoru is the future Spirits Within wanted so badly. I’m really just mostly curious what Heather, as a Gundam fan, thinks of Macross. I also recommend watching Macross DYRL before Plus. It’s a movie and Plus is an OVA

Kozuimi's power up animation was dope as hell. Whenever those giant light beings stood up I thought it was going to be second impact. And the animated space battle for the Day of Sagittarius was giving big Legend of the Galactic Heroes energy.

Natterluck

Piping in as somebody who never watches along with anything but has gotten invested in y'all's oral history of Haruhi, I'm looking forward to hearing about Season 2!

Adam Curtis

I for one am of the opinion that we, as a society, have a collective responsibility to keep hyper intelligent teenage girls entertained and that if we fail in that responsibility we deserve to be destroyed by giant blue EVA monsters made of pure energy.
