You touched on this a bit but I gotta say my favorite part of season 2 is the directing choices made. KyoAni really put so much love and creativity into every aspect of the animation and it'll show every time.

My favorite detail from these episodes is when Yuki syncs up with her future self she ditches her glasses. Also it would be rad if y'all covered the Cowboy Bebop Movie once Matt has finished the series.

Okay it’s been a week since I watched Jujustu Kaisen 0 and I’ve already watched all of season 1. The show basically used Domain Expansion on me and all I could watch was JJK.

Not sure if this is the right forum for chain reactions but I thought it was cool when Heather, Nick, and Matt were talking about the series they’ve been trying to consume. For the last 6 years or so I’ve been slowly trying to make my way through all of Star Trek. Over 400 episodes in I’m at the tail end of DS9 and still loving it, though the series has changed dramatically over the years (not just production wise). I’d be curious to hear what series other listeners have approached this way. Love the show!

Man, I'm loving Haruhi and I'm so glad y'all are doing season 2. I haven't stopped thinking about God Knows since I watched. Killer riffs. Heather is right, Gundam clothing is so cool. I got a Hello Kitty x Gundam collab shirt and wore it to church a couple weeks ago and must have gotten a dozen compliments. Also, on the subject of cloning Jedi, Luke was cloned in the EU from the hand that he lost in Empire, and the evil clone's name was Luuke Skywalker. Luke with two U's. That was the best they could come up with.

I've been weebing the seminal manga. "Goodnight Punpun." I am not the same anymore! Would love to hear Heather's thoughts, if she's read it. Matt, you sweet perfect cinnamon bun, don't you dare ever read this. I don't know about the real Nick, but podcast-character Nick would probably end up in jail if he read it.

I think the OP for Haruhi season 2 is just a hair better than season 1’s, but the ED, while decent, can’t hold a candle to season 1’s ED. With regard to One Piece, I just got into it this year, and I think the manga is a better on-ramp to getting into it. I’ve read up to chapter 320 of the manga, but I’ve been kind of skipping around the anime because there’s filler and kind of odd pacing in otherwise great arcs to slow things down so the anime doesn’t outpace the manga. However, on the subject of killer opening and closing themes, that’s maybe my favorite thing about the One Piece anime — so many good OPs and EDs that manage to capture the spirit of the show while still being sonically diverse.

Having only seen Gundam Wing when it aired on Adult Swim, you guys convinced me to watch Gundam Origins. Now I'm slowly making my way through 1979's Mobile Suit Gundam! I find it funny nothing know about the canon, and finding several main characters in the main series that I recognize from Origins. Gotta say, the animation in Origins is pretty sick. P.S. I peeped at some Gundam kits on Amazon, not sure if I'm ready to dip my toe in yet.

I decided to watch 8 & 12 with the context how they would have been aired (i.e. I watched 7-8-9, then 11 -12) and the most striking thing was how episode 9 (“Mystérique Sign” season 1, episode 7) makes several direct references to Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody that my brain just glossed over because I had no context when I watched it the first time. Like it almost felt like I was being gaslit by Crunchyroll and they added an alternate version of Mystérique Sign that you only unlock if you watch Bamboo Leaf beforehand. I’m impressed with the amount of discipline they had to basically know all of this ahead of time so it would all fit together. Not unlike the original run of Futurama BUT very much unlike whatever nonsense George Lucas claims he planned from the start.

I accidentally watched episode 8 toward the beginning of my watch, maybe the 4th or 5th episode I saw. Rewatching it now blew my mind, I was so baffled the first time I saw it that I don't think it ruined much. I'm loving the show, I'm a huge K-On! fan and seeing the similarities (especially in the episode where Haruhi performs in a band) are really cool. Also, I'm with Heather on the bad vibes in a packed pool. Fun fact, I almost drowned in a wave pool once when I was 8! Love hearing you guys talk, thanks for introducing me to cool new shows to watch.

One thing I noticed for the first time during this watch is that occasionally Kyon will be thinking something and Koizumi will directly respond to it. Indicating that he's been using his Esper abilities this whole time to read Kyon's thoughts when they're together.
