It’s starting to pick up, but I think it’d be a bit more interesting if his lovely wife Helena was a human. What must it be like to be married to a robot?

Alex Chosid

Glad to finally see my guy go Gesicht-ko Mode. This show knows how to ride the fine line between “deliberate pacing” and “plodding.” This show is slow and fun and I have truly no idea how they’re going to fill out the rest of these very long episodes. Also, I don’t understand how children work in the robot world. Everyone talks about robot kids like they’re pure as the driven snow, like people do about human kids that will grow into adults. But unless they swap kid robots into bigger bodies they’re all basically just having more emotions for an iPhone Mini instead of an iPhone Pro Max? Maybe this is me finding out I’m basically Adolf but there’s a logical link missing here for me.

Watching how stop-motion is made is almost as breathtaking as the animation itself. All the Laika Studios behind the scenes are so cool.

Ivan Lajara

Thanks to this pod, as characters talk about Adolf’s brother in an episode, I hear “who is a piece of shit” as part of the dialogue, which makes me laugh hysterically and is so tonally dissonant with what’s happening that I’m glad I’m not watching the show with others.

Luke Bovard

Ive only read the manga but this is when it really kicked into high gear for me. BTW Heather those inflatable bike helmets are quite popular here in Berlin. Although I just found out the company that makes them filed for bankruptcy.

So this is something I bump up against any time I interact with Astro Boy stuff, Tenma seems like a real asshole. Sure, it's a good commentary on how genius isn't necessarily moral. But just give me a Doctor Light or something, not this sullen jerk.

Richard Glass

As a new dad, this episode was really emotionally exhausting for me. The measured pace and grim foreshadowing makes you sit in those scenes of parental grief for a little too long. Spoiler, the next ep doesn’t get any happier. I’m glad I stuck with it though, this show rules. Adolf’s bro was a real piece of shit.

I can’t tell if OnePiece is a bit or if Nick is actually going on this voyage with us. Don’t get me wrong, I love bits, especially confusing bits, long bits, whole lives as bits, but I also love OnePiece. Been a fan since I was too young to be finding and watching subtitled anime on the internet and it would be amazing to share with y’all. Heather/Matt/any fellow straw hats out there, please make this Schrödinger’s bit real and watch shame Nick under the table on OnePiece with me.

Montblanc is the robuddy we all wish we had.

Mobile Suit Bagera

Nick, in a fun little bit of serendipity, they recently announced Coraline is coming back to theatres with a remaster. Heather hearing the amount of care you put into your craft, going as far as monitoring the zeitgeist is truly inspiring. I agree with Matt you're getting that hardware. Matt I bust out that cottage pie fun fact every time I eat one, I got unreasonably excited when you interjected because I knew it was coming.

Michael Pemulis

We shouldn't criticize our great leaders. Biden ended border wall construction and also the death penalty. Trump lowered taxes for the poor and middle class and raised them for the wealthy. Obama shut down Guantanamo and stopped drone attacks. Bush accomplished the mission and found the WMDs. Clinton reformed healthcare and gave more rights to same sex couples. Bush didn't make any new taxes and saved the Kuwaiti people.

Zeon Liberation

Honestly, what I come for is the ridiculous intro’s. Anyone can do a recap show. What makes this worthwhile is the tangents and Leno talk.

Really enjoying the show. If I’m being honest, I think the robot deaths in this have been more impactful on me than human deaths in other shows. Specifically Brondo’s fully haunts my thoughts. I’m a father myself and I think it’s the best portrayal of dying thoughts being of family I’ve ever seen. Maybe you get little narrated flashbacks in movies/shows of those thoughts. But to literally have visual evidence of inability to think of anything else than family makes my eyes leak every time I think on it. Jay Leno sucks. #teamcoco (but I enjoy your jokes. Keep’m coming)

Jayce Beasley

I’m kinda surprised you guys haven’t talked about these characters’ schnozzes. These dudes have honkers!

Alie Ward had a nice episode of Ologies about P-22

I totally forgot I left a comment and almost had an anxiety attack when I heard my name haha

If a little robot girl gave me a kitten and then ran away I think it would actually solve all my problems

I've been taking this show week to week and I'm really enjoying it. Gives me time to digest the show more. I think it says a lot about me that I was really wondering what was so horrible in this episode that Nick needed to give a heads up on it. Maybe I'm a piece of shit like the brother because I'm not seeing these robots as human. Expect Mont Blanc. Speaking of, after this pod episode I made a shitty meme and put it in the discord get animed page. I'm glad that you finally fessed up to Heather about Jay Leno and her reaction was perfect.

Having seen the “Spaghetti” episode of Rick & Morty that Heather is credited with writing, I can safely say that nothing is as dark as her imagination!

I think we all need to accept a cold, hard truth: Nick is never going to watch One Piece.

Jason Vande Brake

Hellooooo Heather, Matt and Nick! Jason Vande Brake here! I'm the voice of Gesicht in the English dub of PLUTO. After the show came out last fall, I was really, really, REALLY hoping you would cover it, and now you are, and I can't EVEN tell you how unbelievably thrilling that is for me as a fan of the podcast! As an advanced robot, Gesicht *understands* that emotions exist, but he's not completely familiar or comfortable with them. One of challenges of playing Gesicht was getting his tone right and finding that balance between human and robot. So you may have already guessed that my performance was pretty significantly inspired by my favorite human podcast host, Nick Wiger. During recording sessions, you popped into my mind at LEAST once an episode. And that is 100% true. So thank you, Nick! Also a little bit of inside info that I *think* you guys might have missed and that a lot of people don't catch is that Adolph's brother is actually NOT a good man. It's kind of hidden in the subtext, but especially astute viewers may pick up on it. I've been listening to Get Played and Anime'd since day #1. Thanks for being so funny and delightful and please keep doing the show forever.
