Happy November 20th!

What a joyous and festive day. It is my responsibility as a board game recommender, to recommend the board games before people need the board games recommended so they aren't lost and bewildered when the imperative to buy Christmas gifts takes hold within them.

And every year I struggle to meet that deadline, and I get comments saying "this would have been useful two weeks ago".

But no-one is leaving that comment today. No-one is leaving that comment on 20th November. And therefore, my work is done.

Except for Veggie Match, which I scripted, filmed and then realised it's not available until 2026, and I'd been tricked by an overzealous publisher. Chalk that one up for The Grinch.

Nevertheless, 19 other gift ideas remain well judged and considered. I don't recommend them lightly. I recommend them with caution and a keen understanding of the complex systems that underpin the board game industry which consumes us all and yet call us the "consumer".

I hope these bring joy to anyone you buy them for. This is our season approaching. We must take our opportunities where we can. Before long the sun will return, and our friends and families will run outside to embrace it, acting like they'd never had fun at our table at all.

Go forth and play.

Actually yours.
