I'm back! Slightly later than I'd hoped because I caught a cold. But I've now released it back into the wild to terrorize someone else (my wife).

It's time to return to our regularly scheduled programming: great board games and some silly jokes. Please watch and enjoy.

And I have a giveaway for you! Ludicreations offered me an extra copy of On The Underground to send to one of you lovely patrons. If you'd like to win it, please comment below with your favourite train station (I don't know, I've not done this before!), and I'll pick a winner.

Thank you so much for your support, I'm turning my attention to some comedy next :)

Actually yours,

Jon

King Street Station in Seattle, WA! Really cool old tower amongst the skyscrapers and stadiums in the south part of the city.

Diego Aguado

Shinjuku, Tokyo, busiest train station in the world

Christopher Holmes

Well I don't think I've been to a real train station. Here in Omaha we have a nice museum that used to be an active station. Grand Central Station in New York looks amazing, but I have yet to visit there.

Emma

Paddington Station, London. Just because of Paddington Bear. I’ve only been there for about 10 minutes but managed to get a snap with Paddington on the bench

J.C. Mosier

Grand Central Station is wonderful -- especially if you've seen "The Fisher King."

Steve Cameron

Union Station in Toronto. I haven't been to many train stations, but it's definitely the biggest and busiest one I've gone through.

David Wren

Finlandsky Voksal in Saint Petersburg, Russia. It's where Lenin returned from Finland to start the revolution, but the statue of him standing victorious in front of the station looks a bit like he's farting.

Mine might be 30th St. Station in Philadelphia. The main entrance is huge and classic, and there's a little bit of food and retail inside - but also it's easy to transfer from Amtrak to local and back, and boarding for Amtrak is non-chaotic.

The train station I picture in my mind when I listen to Gladys Knight & The Pips' 'Midnight Train to Georgia'. It's an old-fashioned station which looks great in the moonlight, lots of wooden planks that make a great sound as she walks on them headed for the car 'he's' in. He looks out the window and along the black wrought iron fence he can see her coming with bags in either hand. It's open-air so, her hair's blowing a bit in the breeze and 'cause of her brisk walk. The car he's in is far from the station house but he can just make out her getting in the car and imagine the reunion that must be.

Grand Central Station in New York City. Or maybe Penn Station. But Grand Central really is ... grand.

Johan Fink

Copenhagen Central Station

Rolando Valenzuela

Not a train station, but Hauptbahnhof in Munich was simple amazing! Super organized and how easy was to change lines was amazing!!

Daniel Durkin

Thank you for the video and game-winning opportunity, Jon. My dad work for the railroad and his home base was Baltimore's Penn Station, so that one.

Dan

Great video as always! I think my favourite train station might actually be London Bridge, mostly because I enjoy the walk over the bridge once I leave the station for work.

Emil Juul Jacobsen

Probably the Moscow Underground stations. Like taking a time machine

Macroom Gamesnight

Mallow, Cork. My dad worked as an office clerk for CIE (the national delivery company of Ireland). He would get family passes for the train, and so he would save them up so we could all go to Dublin, where there were actual shops. Found my D&D V.3 Players Handbook when I was 13. Incredible. So yeah, dinky little two platform, Mallow station for me.

Tokyo Station, because on our last trip every time I had to transit through there was a wonderful shop selling some of the best choux pastries I've ever had.

Flinders Street Station in Melbourne. Sure, the external French Renaissance-style architecture is iconic and lovely, and the modernisation of the internal has been deftly handled. But for me, the reason it's my favourite is as its role as a meeting point, a hub for people like myself who grew up in regional Australia (Victoria) and needed a central spot to meet with people when you first arrive into the Melbourne CBD. Many happy childhood memories start (and end) with a meet up with a friend or family member on the hallowed steps of Flinders St.

So, I live the American Midwest, a region built by railroads, but have never been to a train station! All my experiences with train stations have been through media exposure. So, I’m going to pick Grand Central Station cuz it had probably been in the most movies and it’s pretty darn impressive, as well.

Scott

I haven’t been in too many memorable train stations, so I will say Grand Central Station.

Markus Shepherd

Gotta be Blackfriars, the station on the bridge in the heart of London 😎

Ismael Alonso

Villaverde Alto Station in Madrid's Subway. It has a giant poster of the area made by hundreds of thounsands of small photographs from people living there.

Blast-Ended Gaming

Favorite train station? Well, I suppose I'll go with Union Station. It's one of the only ones we have around here and it's in a very nice old-fashioned building.

Andrew Howie

A few people already mentioned it but my favorite is Grand Central Station. A beautiful station in a beautiful city.

JugandoJdM

I'll say the San Rosendo station in Chile, mainly because of its history :) (sadly it's now abandoned)

Brett Bond

David Scott already took Flinders St Station (and said it better than I could!) so I'll go with Southern Cross Station - it's where I first met my wife face to face and has been such a hub for meeting visitors to Melbourne from the country and interstate - so lots of memories made there!

JM

I don't know much about train stations, but I wouldn't mind visiting Antwerp Central in Belgium someday. It looks stunning in photos.

Ceedee Doyle

I've recently heard that the Russian underground is amazing - completely free of advertising and as a consequence feels very peaceful and you can appreciate the amazing architecture. I've never been but I'd love to see it. If I had to pick one I've been to, then Dunedin railway station in the South Island of New Zealand is beautiful. Built in 1900's it is luxurious.
