First of all, I was absolutely blown away by the number of you generous lot who switched to annual membership after my post yesterday. Thank you. It has really made me feel valued. Doing a pledge drive always makes me feel vulnerable, so I'm grateful for the vote of confidence.

As a reward (you would have got it anyway!), here is the first video of my new Top 50 series. I hope you enjoy it! It was nice to get to  film some games that I've spoken about in Q&As a lot but never properly reviewed.

I will be releasing the next video in the series when we hit the next Patreon goal. We're currently $120/month away from that goal, so hopefully this video can encourage some more people to become patrons.

Do you get the annual membership money right away or does Patreon keep it in an escrow? If you get it all at once, just make sure you plan for the lower cash flow for the next year.

Wow, so cool to see Hunters & Gatherers on the list 😃 you're the first channel I've seen recommending it (you already know it's also my favorite version) the new edition looks beautiful too. Great first video in the 50-series. It's impressive how you manage to both explain the games and why you love it, in such a short time!

It's a Lamy Safari ballpoint pen. I briefly flirted with pen fascination during lockdown and ended up with that and one or two others 😁

2026-09-18 17:00 I should have recognized a Lamy Safari! I've dabbled in pen obsessions over the years and have a fountain pen version in my bag all the time, but don't use it much. My favorite pen I found has been the Twsbi Eco fountain pen. A nice ballpoint pen would be less messy for sure. What were the other two you found? I'd love to check them out!

They were a Lamy Safari rollerball and a Kaweco Classic Sport rollerball. I'll try to flash them in a future video 😁 I didn't quite make it to trying fountain pens. Too many bad memories from being forced to use them at school. I'm left-handed so ink smudging is always a present threat too.
