I was originally going to make a very different version of this that had, idk, a style of lighting I tend to gravitate towards a lot. The sunset-kinda look.

I usually paint in flats, apply a single color layer over everything on Multiply, and then add my lighting as a saturated pastel color either in Color Dodge or Add and adjust from there. This time though I remembered Divide which, if used correctly, can look really striking because it does a bunch of math to keep highlights as powerful as possible while knocking everything else out. The problem is that it's an inverse blending mode, so if you need to work with the inverted color of whatever lighting result you want, which I forgot, and cast a bright blue light streak across the artwork and... loved it. So I rolled with it! The end result is something I really really love.
