STICKER CLUB is now LIVE ! (Patreon)
Content
Really excited to do this, I've been wanting to forever. Starting this month, I'm opening a sticker club where everyone in that tier will get at least one exclusive sticker in the mail! That's right, exclusive! Not gonna find it on my shop or in person at any vendor booth or anything. The sticker club is $10/month, which includes shipping. You'll also get a handwritten note, and whatever other goodie or thing that comes to mind? Who doesn't like surprises!
As a special occasion for the launch of the tier, you'll actually get TWO stickers this month. One sticker for the tier, and a bonus holographic one that thanks you for joining from the start. 💖
I've always loved making stickers and designing things in that format. It's been the most fun thing to sell at cons when I do them locally and I'm fortunate to live near a great printer with a ton of options, so it'll be fun to get weird with it some times ! Also, like, when Lena and I were in Japan recently, I stopped by B-Side Label as we always do and god I'm just so envious of those artists getting to design things at such a scale and with such variety of styles. Why not give myself the opportunity for that!! I wanna make more cool and unique stuff!!
Additionally, there's a bonus tier for an extra $2 that will let you get two of every sticker. One for personal use, and one for... lampposts? Laptop? Car? Who can say ! (You. You can say.)
(Patrons outside of North America will have to add an extra dollar. See the pricing breakdown below for more info!)You can adjust your membership tier at the button below, or join if you're not a Patron yet !
I've talked about this in a post a bit ago, but I'd also like to add a bit of info about pricing and, like, a bit of explanation on the impetus for this. My tiers haven't changed in price since I launched my Patreon almost 10 years ago (what the fuck). $4/month (the tier most of you subscribe to) has stayed that way through numerous changes in income, economy, and housing realities for myself and everyone else. My patreon came with a lot of ebb and flows that I've adjusted to but I'm definitely at a point now where I need to address the fact that I haven't adjusted this place in any way over time.
I hate price increases or locking anyone out of anything, so I'm not going to do that. In fact, some of you who are at the $6 tier will now notice that the tier has been dissolved. You're still a supporter, you can just choose to drop down to the $4 tier or bump up to the sticker club.
My rationale for this was that whatever drops I see from removing a tier or adjustments or whatever, I'd make up with the margins in the sticker club tier, which I think is priced reasonably and gives me a bit of wiggle room for fluctuating costs and avoiding price increases for the foreseeable future. I hope that makes sense?
And for full transparency, here's a breakdown of costs per sticker. I want to be upfront about prices and all of that, especially since Intl. folks will have to pay an extra dollar. Prices are in CAD unless specified.
Sticker Club Tier is $10 (USD)
Sticker Cost
$1.40
This actually varies! The more folks subscribe to the tier, the lower this cost is. Right now, this is at 25 per order, so $1.40 per sticker.
Shipping Cost
Canada: $0.81
US: $1.75
International (EU, Asia, Oceania): $3.65
Packaging, etc.
Envelopes: $0.20
ish? Depends on where I'm buying them but the cost is so small it's functionally neglible.)
Label printer: $130, roll refills are $22 each. Ends up to about $0.05 per label/use.
The printer itself is a one-time cost, so this is spread across the lifetime of this tier (hopefully for years to come!) but is an upfront cost. The rolls, I have no idea when I'll need to refill. Like the envelopes and stickers, this varies depending on how many people sub to the tier in the end.
Patreon's Cut
Founders plan - 5% (of the USD tier cost), so $0.71 (CAD)
In the end, this averages to a margin of about $9-10 CAD. Some of that is technically "you also get HQ versions of all my art and whatever else while supporting me", but that's the clear cutness of it.
International patrons (Europe, Asia, Australia/Oceania--basically anywhere that isn't Canada or the US) will have to add an extra $1 to the tier. Shipping, even by letter, is so weirdly expensive for international and that'll definitely cut into my margins over time in a way that the extra dollar will make less annoying. Sorry about that! I'm handling all of the printing and shipping myself, so hopefully it's an understandably reasonable trade! Shipping will be at minimum twice a month. Realistically, it'll be "whenever I stop by the post office" but I live near it so it's not much of a problem. At minimum, I'll do it once everyone's pledges are collected and mid-way through the month.
As said in the paragraph before, this lets me adjust my income to where it's healthy for it to be without increasing prices on anyone or locking anyone out of anything. I don't want to do that!! Ever!! It sucks and I hate it. Things shouldn't get more expensive if no one's income is actually proportionally adjusting to it. It also gives me space to make sure I don't have to adjust prices for this at any point in the future. The more folks subscribe, the cheaper some things will get and if the numbers plateau at a given amount of subscribers, I'll have the wiggle room to grow into small postage increases over time. Fortunately, stickers are pretty inexpensive to mail.
Anyways,
So excited to launch this and see everyone start sending pictures of stickers being in cool places !! If you join, please send me pictures of where the stickers end up, I wanna see !!!

FAQ
When will you ship the stickers?
Twice a month, at minimum. Once in the first week(ish) after collecting pledges and once mid-way through the month for anyone who joins after the fact. If there's any extra ones in between and I'm near the post office I'll ship em out then, too.
Can I pick which sticker I get?
Not currently, it'll be a set "everyone gets this" for the time being. Might do some special occasions with choices though!
Will you be taking requests?
In the future, maybe. Right now, I have a lot of ideas I want to get out and don't want to restrict myself too quickly but I def want to leave the space for polls and whatnot.
How long will it take to ship?
Here are some general time frames based on what I've heard from Patrons already in the club. These are relative to when I ship, so add about a week to the estimate to account for any resupply or time taken to pack everything up.
Canada: 2-3 days
USA: 5-7 days
UK: 7 days
Europe: 7 days
South America: 2 weeks
Southeast Asia: 2 weeks
This really depends. In Canada, about a week. To the US, somewhere between 1-2 weeks. Internationally, I currently don't know but I'll ask some folks to get a sense and update this accordingly. I'd expect 2-3 weeks though--it's mail, not a parcel.
